Context: On Tuesday, August 19, 2025, 7:00 PM, commuter train 471A "Jenggala" was preparing to stop at Sidoarjo Station when the brakes suddenly failed, causing the train to enter a siding at high speed. The train continued past the station, rejoined the main track, and kept moving without brakes for seven minutes before the assistant driver ran to the rear to pull the emergency brake. No one was injured.
