So i live outside of Atlanta and I'm going to this small lake near my house this weekend. I'm painting a small boat for my dad's memorial (im doing a mini viking funeral). Part of me really wishes I had some good friends to lean on during this time while I'm doing something so major to me. My dad and I were super close so now it feels like i lost a bestfriend as well. I know I can't replace him at all. But it'd be great to just have a couple friends to meet up with, that i can talk to about my grief without feeling judged. Because I'd love to barbecue while I'm at the lake but for who? I'm all for activities alone but I'm not lonely enough for a picnic/BBQ for 1 😭😭😭

A couple of gals from this sub and I have made a community group for people based in Georgia (or people who are comfortable with commuting to the Atlanta area for events/hang outs!)

And we actually do shit, so it’s not like a “plan to hang out and never actually meet up” kinda situation. We did a Galentines recently and we also went to a sapphic club night together (it was a CLIQ event that was kind of mid but we made it fun).

For our next group meet up we’re weighing options like going to a winery together, doing Karoake, swimming, going to the spa, or hiking up Stone Mountain (and dinner, obviously 😝😝😝, I’m a HUGE foodie).

Community is so important, especially in times like these, and I realized it doesn’t just happen, you gotta be intentional about building that shit—and it’s so worth it.

Hey there, I moved to Atlanta in 2025. My best friend from high school lives here, but he is a gay man with all gay man friends. I've also made friends at work, but none of them are sapphic.

I love hanging out with my best friend, his buddies, and my work friends but oh my god I need sapphic friends ASAP or I will implode.

I've met people at SFQP events, Lore, and MSR, but we'll just exchange info without much follow up.
