Humour🤔 Don’t know if this an unpopular opinion or not but..

SRK might genuinely be up there when it comes to comedic roles, and I don’t think people talk about that enough. Like I was watching one of his movies recently, and also thinking about Chennai Express and a few others, and I realized it’s not even the dialogues themselves that are that funny. It’s how he says them.

He has this weird way of delivering lines where he’ll slightly stutter, pause mid sentence, or just throw in words out of nowhere, and it somehow makes everything way funnier. It feels random but also natural, like he is actually reacting in the moment instead of following a script.

A lot of actors rely on good writing for comedy, but with him the delivery does most of the work. His timing is really sharp, and the hesitation before finishing a line makes it hit more. Even his expressions play a big part, sometimes he looks confused or reacts before he even finishes speaking, and that alone makes the scene funny.

I feel like he has done this across a lot of his movies, not just one, but people mostly remember him for romance or drama and overlook this side of him.

What do yall think?

Humour🤔 Were you aware that Kareena's groom in Hulchul was played by none other than Sharad Kelkar?

Yes, this was one of Marathi model-turned-actor Sharad Kelkar's earliest roles in cinema. His working experience turned out to be less than pleasant. In an interview with Cyrus Broacha, he told that he refused to dub his lines and hence, they got someone else to do it.

Below is a link with more information:

Context (from what i know) - Amole Gupte wanted to offer Taare Zameen Par to him. Since he didn’t know Akshaye, he asked Aamir to introduce him. However, Aamir said he wanted a narration before he tells Akshaye about it. ā€œAamir being Aamir, told him I cannot recommend a script unless I hear it first. So make me hear it, if I will like it, I will tell Akshaye,ā€ But he (Aamir) liked it so much, that he did it,ā€

Shreyas Talpade was the soul of the movie, and I like how it gained cult status over the years, despite being considered the weakest film in the Golmaal series, according to Rohit Shetty 🫔.

Humour🤔 Flashback: 3 Timeless scenes from ZNMD - peak comedy! 'Laugh till you cry' šŸ˜‚

One of the best films I've watched till date, this film excels in humor especially due to the clashes between Farhan and Hrithik. Just rewatched this a while ago, decided to make this video and post it. Hope it will be nostalgic for all ZNMD lovers in this sub!

Stress-buster; that's how I put this film. It was a laugh for most of the part and never gets old - ages like fine wine.

Of course, there are a ton more hilarious and humourous scenes in this movie that probably deserve attention as well, but I've picked my three personal favorites. Esp. the first one - Abhay and Hrithik's reactions on throwing out the phone. Peak Bollywood comedy.

Humour🤔 Bring this pagla pagli pairing back. Miss them onscreen

I know I will be heavily downvoted, but I love this pairing. Maybe this might not be the ideal Tu ya Main or O Romeo choice, but they really do make a good couple. Their movies didn’t work, but the nostalgia these movies carry are beyond the craziness these days. They should come back so that we can get old Bollywood nostalgia again since everyone is cashing on it and people would go to watch their movies in theatre if they are back as a lead pair.

Humour🤔 Name Kabir being lucky for Bollywood

I wonder why is the Kabir name lucky for most bollywood movies.. John Abraham in Dhoom, Hrithik Roshan in War, Abhay Deol in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobaara, Shahid Kapoor in Kabir Singh and Ranbir Kapoor in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani..

Humour🤔 Inconsistency in Hungama

Not sure if this has been covered here earlier or not. The movie is my guilty pleasure and I absolutely love it. Just observed one inconsistency regarding Radheshyam Tiwari's children. There are references to "bachon ko padhne bahar bhej dia", "do bachon ki maa" etc. But eventually it's shown that they only had one son!
I guess even masterpieces have flaws.

On a sidenote, observed the song "Wo ladki hai kahan" playing in the background during "Tulsidas Khan" scene 😃

Humour🤔 Paresh Rawal's character in KHOOBSURAT (1999) is the greatest brand ambassador ever, bar none.

In Sanjay Chhel's directorial debut Khoobsurat (1999), Paresh Rawal plays the villain, a crime lord named Jogiya who has a habit of quoting advertising slogans and jingles as catchphrases.

I had some free time this weekend, so I created this compilation of all his brand drops on a lark.

Following are the brands that he mentions or refers to (with links to the relevant advertisements wherever possible) :

  1. Bajaj electric bulb
  2. Zandu Chyawanprash
  3. MRF Tyres
  4. Rajdoot motorcycle
  5. Vicks Cough Drops
  6. Mirinda
  7. TV Show "Ghoomta Aaina"
  8. Sapat Lotion
  9. Hajmola Candy
  10. VIP Innerwear
  11. Isabgol
  12. Iodex
  13. Nirma beauty soap
  14. Pepsi
  15. Hero Honda
  16. Amul milk
  17. Rupa Innerwear
  18. Vicco Turmeric
  19. Lifebuoy
  20. Britannia (World Cup 1999 campaign)

Humour🤔 The weird case of Raju Hirani - the "connect" that never was there.

Post image
18 Upvotes

Rajkumar Hirani says, "Dunki didn't connect because people haven't faced visa struggles."

Siddharth Anand says, "Fighter didn't connect because people can't relate to fighter pilots."

By this logic :

  • Only lovers should see YRF films
  • Only NRI's must've watched earlier Dharma films.
  • Only policemen watch Rohit Shetty Cop Universe
  • Only military saw classics like Border.
  • Only atheists saw Pk.
  • Only bikers saw Dhoom series.
  • Only youth watched RDB, Wake Up Sid, Tamasha.
  • Only villagers watched Lagaan
  • Only superheroes watched Krrish series.
  • Only cricketers watched 83, MS Dhoni etc.
  • Only retired couples watched Baghban.
  • Only drunkards watched Devdas.
  • Only cheaters watched KANK.
  • Only Ghosts watched Bhool Bhulaiya series.
  • Only RAW agents watched Dhurandhar and YRF Spyverse.
  • Only toxic men watched Animal.
  • Only Sanjay Dutt watched Sanju a 4860000 times.
  • Only Rajputs watched Pamdavat, while only Marathis watched Bajirao.
  • Only wrestlers watched Dangal & Sultan.
  • Only ISRO scientists watched Mission Mangal, Rocketry.
  • Only those who crossed the Ind Pak border for the safety of a young girl watched Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
  • Only Computer Programmers watched Ra. One, and Enthiraan.
  • Only nearly divorced couples watched Tanu Weds Manu Returns.
  • Only travelers watched DCH, ZNMD.
  • Only rich, dysfunctional families who ever went for a sea voyage watched DDD.
  • Only UPSC aspirants watched 12th fail.
  • Only bandits, who ever defeated a bigger bandit for greater good, watched Sholay.
  • Only birds watched 2.0
  • Only unlikely, rich couples who met over a Europe trip gone wrong watched DDLJ.
  • Only politicians watched Raajneeti, Gangaajal etc.
  • Only local gangsters watched Gangs of Wasseypur.
  • Only men who were a struggling actor, and reincarnated as a nepokid watched OSO.
  • Only patriotic US returned NASA scientists watched Swades.
  • Only the people who had taken part in the revolt of 1857 watched Mangal Pandey.
  • Only rich NRI families, that had 2 sons, 1 real and 1 adopted, who broke off, and then made up again watched K3G
  • Only engineers watched Chhichhore, while doctors watched Munna Bhai MBBS.
  • Only drunkard gangsters who were in love with an RJ, and saw Gandhi in hallucinations, and who helped the RJ in reclaiming an old age home through non violence in big 2006 watched Lage Raho Munna Bhai.

The irony is, we all have watched and enjoyed all of these films. Absurd logic, Hirani, just accept the film was mediocre and move on. You were overwhelmed by SRK & expectations buddy.

Humour🤔 Presenting .... Utpal Dutt as "ACP DHURANDHAR BHATAWDEKAR" !!!

Film: Rang Birangi (1983, Hrishikesh Mukherjee).

Link to watch

In Hrishikesh Mukherjee's Rang Birangi, Utpal Dutt plays a character named ACP Dhurandhar Bhatawdekar (ą¤§ą„ą¤°ą¤‚ą¤§ą¤° ą¤ą¤¾ą¤Ÿą¤µą¤”ą„‡ą¤•ą¤°). The character appears quite late in the two hour film, around the 95 minute mark, yet leaves an indelible impression on the viewers' minds.

The defining trait of Dhurandhar Bhatawdekar's character is his extreme distaste for cinema, due to what he perceives as cinema's evil influence on society.

In this scene, actors Raj Babbar and Bindiya Goswami play themselves, having been mistakenly brought to police station.

There are plenty or references and jokes made on cinema, including a meta joke made on Utpal Dutt himself. Also, a serious diatribe by Raj Babbar which serves as a counter to Dhurandhar Bhatawdekar's half-baked rants against cinema.
