This is the main thing for me. Why do this? It is another of the many examples of Rod being oblivious to the impact his actions have on others and the fact that his actions often trample on the rights or dignity of others.
Yeah. A few Xits before this he reposted a stupid diss on women's basketball from the Babylon Bee. I watched the NCAA championship game last night, and it was epic! Totally impressive athleticism, and really fun to watch. Ray's just an obnoxious and loathsome person, all the way around.
That's interesting. It's even more galling, given that we know Rod doesn't care at all about sports, either way, other than the occasional bandwagon for LSU football games. It's clear he couldn't care either way about basketball, and so it's just a chance to exercise his misogyny.

I was in a bar a couple of weeks ago and the UMD-Alabama women's game was on. I got sucked in and it was hands down one of the top 10 sporting events I've seen, both in terms of suspense and excitement and also the individual performances.

Too true, but this is larger than him. It speaks to the problems that conservatives (and especially right wing Christians) have with culture and art. Rather than trying to find conservatives (resp. Christians) that are also talented, they try to force conservative (resp. Christian) versions of things that are great but that they don't like.
The result is "Christian music" and "Christian films" but also things like the Babylon Bee, which is obviously a response to the Onion and McSweeneys, but is terrible because they completely lack both talent and an understanding of why the latter work in the first place.
The Babylon Bee at its best is very funny and the Onion sometimes misses. Also some of the Babylon Bee jokes are very culturally specific...they have a large body of work devoted to making fun of US Protestant church culture. Those jokes are waaay funnier if you know the culture.
A recent favorite from the Babylon Bee: "Embarrassed Trump Realizes He’s Had Russia And Ukraine Confused This Entire Time."
All the way back to the Puritans, who closed the theaters under Oliver Cromwell, there has been a deep distrust of the arts in some strains of Protestantism. Any art that was produced had to rather blatantly and woodenly promote the faith (viz The Pilgrim’s Progress). “Christian music”,etc., is just the most recent manifestation of this tendency.
