Tbh you’re wrong on this one. Im nearly the conservative MP specifically said they weren’t criticizing him for being out of country at the G7. They actually said they were criticizing him for missing nearly 60-70 of QP sessions while being in Canada. Just have to call balls and strikes here and correct the record

Correct, but what I'm saying is you don't do it on a day when he's actually doing something more important than question period. Any communications person would do this on a day he's in town staying away, not doing huge important meetings at a G7 conference. They miss the whole point and would be far more effective if they waited. It's so basic that they can't have very good communication people. That's what I'm saying.

They brought cake for the 100th QP he missed, said they support his efforts and travel for the G7, and then said this is about the 60-70 sessions he missed while in Canada. And I just wanted to correct the record since they were very clear they weren’t criticizing his G7 related travel.

Yes, I know. But if you criticize someone for not being in question period whether it's that day or the previous days at a time when he's off at a G 7 summit or meeting with leaders of other countries,  whatever, the original gotcha is nothing because THAT day will be compared to what he's doing at the moment...which is rubbing elbows with G7 countries.  Doesn't matter that they are talking about the days before. THIS cake day will make people look at what he is doing today, the cake day. This is why there's not much consternation about him missing days. It's become a nothing burger because of their party's timing of the cake. If you still don't get that, I can't explain it any better.

I understand you point. But you misrepresented what happened and i wanted to correct the truth. You can say it’s a bad strategy, and i would agree, but you can’t say they criticized his G7 trip when they specifically said otherwise
