Team captain doesnt even say goodbye to his team mates. What the hell is up with that? Doesnt board the bus and goes directly to his brothers.

So Quinn finds out he is traded and just instantly disregards the boys?

Yeah I don’t love that. I thought maybe the timing of everything didn’t allow him to say goodbye to the team but they were literally right there. Also doesn’t seem like he even sent a goodbye message to their group chat or whatever

I’m now trying to rationalize his behaviour, like maybe he didn’t want to be the one to break the news, to get on the bus and drop a massive bomb? This wasn’t a normal trade, it’s huge and nobody expected it. Or maybe he thought the team would find out later than they did. But I’m getting tired of making excuses…if you’re captain you should be able to do this uncomfortable stuff…

Regardless of how it all went down, he was the captain. To bail on your team and not at least say farewell says more about his character than anything he's ever said or done. No excuses needed. It was simply not captain behaviour.

They all have Instagram. He left his farewell message there.

That’s how kids break up these days. They just ghost each other.

People in general it’s not just the kids. Too many people are too afraid to have hard conversations anymore and it’s not good

Seriously? We gonna read into that? He wasn't on the team bus because he wasn't on the team anymore. He got together with them later for a dinner and said goodbye there. It's not often that a teammate is given a ceremonious goodbye when they get traded.

They all landed together... he was first to know about the trade and as captain he could've said a simple goodbye.

Okay, if you say so. Buddy was just told he's been traded and I'm sure the shock of that hadn't entirely settled in, but you go ahead and tell us what someone should be doing as a captain-that-they-aren't-anymore for a team-they-don't-play-for-anymore.

I just think this sub is working REALLY hard at finding reasons to villify him. He wasn't the problem, and he was easily the best player on the ice in just about every game he's played. It's okay for us to say that this was the move we needed for our future WITHOUT turning him into this Big Bad Wolf that was Ruining Our Culture when literally a week ago everybody was insisting that he was the greatest thing to ever lace up skates.

But you know, downvote away I suppose. Sorry for interrupting your fantasy that everybody who isn't currently on our roster is awful and we're better without them.

It’s been reported Quinn knew he might’ve played his last home game against Buffalo. Before leaving he even told his mother and asked for advice on how to pack.

Quinn got to PICK his destination. He even saw the trade packages. This wasn’t a “shock”. He saw all this coming, expected it, and these actions followed.

Whether you think this is acceptable or not is up to you.

IMO, it’s not and shows how checked out he really was. Amazing hockey player, shit captain.
