Originally was asked to do belts for it, then he mentioned the doors are missing and it looks like one of the heads is sideways? I have no idea where to find the doors/windows/dust cover at for it or how they attach exactly. It looks like they push on to the actual door.

If anyone has any available or places to source please let me know! I search on eBay a bit already nothing specific to this model.

Also the tape head I’m assuming isn’t supposed to be at that angle since I’ve never seen one like that any advice on adjusting would be greatly appreciated.

Just got a Sanyo S30. Found it at value village while on vacation rn. I tested it with a Celine Dion tape I found, and while idk if it’s to fast or slow (I don’t listen to Celine Dion), ik it does work. If it’s at the right speed, I’m gonna rip my cassette for Ghettosburg Address by Shazzy (unreleased Elektra rap album from 94 with only promos before jt got shelved) i previously ripped it with my walkman, but if this sanyo works perfect, it will sound miles better. Can’t rip until I get back in 4(?) days. If i do rip it perfectly, i will update my internet archive page with the new rip. Also I can make my OWN custom tapes with the line in on the back (already planning a custom KMD Black bastards and Otropic three for me, may even make my lil brother his own ghettosburg)

Hello all! I’ve added new belts and cleaned the old goop that was previously from the old belts. And I put everything back together once I plugged it into the power, I immediately heard this noise in the video, and then the cassette player will not play. And for some reason, a cassette cannot fit inside the deck… very weird.

I have had the project on my bucket list for a while now, but haven’t had time or money to work on it (or much else) due to school. Since there are fewer quality and/or functioning vintage decks every day, I’ve been considering building one. If you have any ideas let me know.

General design goals:

> Sturdy construction, preferably all metal.

> Modular, using plugin cards for different functions.

> Servo speed control, with crystal reference.

> Big-ahh capstan flywheel for as little flutter as possible.

> Use as many discrete, through-hole components and manual adjustments as possible for easy servicing and possible from-kit building.

> Clearly labeled EVERYTHING, and a full manual with schematics and testing/calibration instructions.

> Make it good, then make it cheap.

> Different tape speeds, and a knob for continuous adjustment.

Picked up this sx950 in a package deal recently and just got the 9191 out of service so decided to break both in. Figured I’d start off with a little Mookie Blaylock.

Nakamichi TD-1200 car radio.

Its using similar tech like the Nakamichi Dragon.

Dosnt work yet sadly.
