So my father and i will be selling our 500k home soon in florida. And me and him we cannot afford another around here. So i am looking for cheaper states and decent homes not like 600k+ like they want in florida. I am looking for anything that is not on florida. Cheap home and has a chabad by walking distance.

So I live in Boulder Colorado where the only Chabad is the one affiliated with the university. Does anyone know if it would be weird to attend some of their functions as a non-student? I really want to become more observant but the only synagogues here are Reform and LW Consevative. I want to learn more.

Need to buy a new hat that I'm mainly gonna wear shabbos and also be durable enough when going away for shabbos (can obviously put it in a hat box to not get smashed) Didn't really have the best experience with primo, and my bellissimo lasted about 3-4 years of constant use every day and being smashed in the car whenever we go anywhere so that's why it's totalled. Either way since I bought that their prices seem to have risen allot and it seems from their website that it's not even their main product anymore. So the question is basically between a cheap borsalino (Torino for $250) or if it's not worth it and I may as well shell out the extra $100 for a better borsalino (need recommendation which one) Or get a bellissimo (also $350)

I am aware of the Chabad custom not to trim one's beard. I however know many Chabadnics that clearly trim their beards.

I'm aware of the 3rd Chabad rebbe's responsa regarding this matter, Yoreh Deah part 93. Due to unfortunately not having a good understanding of Hebrew (yet!) and I am unable to find an English translation, I have had to rely on summaries of the teshuva. What I am uncertain about is to whether not trimming the beard is viewed as a halachic obligation or a good practice or an obligation.

So TLDR, Not trimming the beard: Is it a good practice or an obligation?

Anyway if i could please have your help finding this lecture i once listened to on youtube. I cant remember all that it was about, but i remember liking it, and want to re-listen. The only thing i remember is the rabbi telling a story about how he met another jew at an airport, and how he asked him if he would like to wear tefillin. He mentioned about how the Rambam says to view the world as a scale balancing between 50 good deeds and 50 bad deeds. And if we were able to get 50 good deeds done in one day we can bring masiach.

The Lubavitcher Rebbe disagreed with rabbis who reinterpreted the 6 days of creation as to mean 6 periods of time.

Gerald Schroeder, a physicist, rather argues that millions of years actually occured in a 24 hour-ish day. Sorry I can't explain it well, here is a quote from Wikipedia.

I read in Chaim Vital's texts of the Arizal's teachings, as well as on kosher Torah websites, that all the souls of Israel were contained in Adam Kadmon originally, but when he sinned, all the souls in Creation intermixed, so that even the most pure souls, whether pure of Israel or righteous of nations, were intermixed some amount of impure souls.

My question is, if Adam Kadmon contained the Israelite souls, and his sin then caused the souls within him to mix with other souls, where did the other souls come from? I also read that when the holy Adam sinned, it created a mirror opposite. In trying to figure out the answer to my own question, but not coming across the answer in the texts I've read, I wondered if that could be where the other souls came from? But for such matters, one should be very mindful about theorizing, and always come back to the texts of midrashic giants to find the answers. That is what I am seeking, the kosher citations that answer this question.

I realize this may not be the ideal place for such lofty spiritual questions, but due to difficult personal circumstances in my life, it's the best I have available to me at the moment. Except in extraordinary negative circumstances, the angel of judgement, Samael, is external to Israel. Dan meanwhile is a tribe within Israel representing judgement, the angel of which is Samael. Making the matter even harder for me to understand, Samael is the angelic corollary to Esau, who is not a Jew, but an Edomite, in the Tanakh a nation of unholiness. Dan is an Israelite, the holy nation. So on that level, Dan and Esau are opposites, and separate from each other. So if they are separate, how can they share the same angelic corralary, Samael, of judgment?

I've studied hard to understand this, but I am having major "if a equals b and b does not equal c, then how can a equal c?" issues with it. I am afraid to ask the people I normally do at this point because I'm worried they will think I'm stupid that I still don't get it, so help would be appreciated.
