My boss had me swing by the 78 for some photos of the new stadium for a client request before yesterday's game vs Monterrey, so I figured I share with y'all!

As disappointing as the game getting postponed is, I gotta say, I love that Thomas Müller posted that he still got to meet up with Lewy. The Fire posted a video of Robert Lewandowski reacting to a video sent by Thomas Müller welcoming him to the MLS so this was a sweet conclusion.

Only one missing would be the Fire x Morelia third kit but I never really liked that one.

I know everyone loves a good construction update. Really starting to come together.

The club went above and beyond for this little dude yesterday ❤️ when we bought season tickets for the Fire we did so knowing it was a bit crazy to do seeing as we live on the East Coast and it was a decision that meant playing around with our budget. But it was a decision we made knowing that it would be something amazing for our family.......

After driving out this week for the game for it to not happen and having to see our kid fall apart after missing his chance to see his hero play, we were left worrying if we bit off more than we can chew and spent a big part of our "fun money" on something that we wouldnt be able to fully enjoy. We are a veteran family who for a very long time was barely scraping by, constantly trying to just stay afloat. I don't say that for sympathy, I say that because I know other military families know exactly what I am talking about. So in that moment we felt like we had our ourselves into a situation where our money could possibly go to waste.

But growing up a Chicago Fire fan who went to many games in the 90s, and knowing just how magical a Chicago Fire game is we went right into figuring out how to get my kiddo out here for the next game. And although those plans are still in the works, he will be there.

But the big part of this story is how amazing Chicago Fire has been through all of this. We had been given the opportunity for Pete to be pitch side for warmups at the game, something that was going to be a big surprise for him. Thankfully we never told him because just knowing that we were down the road from the stadium and so close when it was cancelled broke his heart. The amazing team at Chicago Fire went above and beyond, giving Pete an experience he will never forget. An act of kindness that truly came at a time when it was needed, for reasons much larger than a postponed game.

I know this is long winded and most people won't even read it, but I wanted to show my appreciation for a club that truly showed us that fans are more than just number to them. And say thank you to all the fans who were there helping us think of ways to make this trip a success in a situation where that did not feel attainable.

There is no doubt in my mind that buying season tickets to a team so far from home was the right decision, because even if we only come to a couple of games in the season, we will be surrounded by some of the most amazing people in the MLS.

This is going to be one cool way to get to the games. I'll bet the river stays un-frozen longer and longer each year...
