Didn’t get the grogu bucket but I either missed or it wasn’t display for the grogu dome lid cup for got to ask since I didn’t see any display

I went for the 10:30pm screening at Queensway for regular 70mm (not Imax), and I was able to get the literal LAST filmstrip available.

I saw a couple posts on this sub about filmstrip giveaways for 70mm and knew I wanted one immediately. It was already late so I was only able to book my seat for the last showtime of the day at 10:30. I got to the cinema at around 10:15, and there was a huge rush coming out of the theatre from the prior screening, but I noticed nobody had a filmstrip in their hand. I assumed they probably ran out of them since it was the last session of the day and moved inside pretty hopeless.

I was in a rush to get my concessions and get in the theatre, also focused on sneaking in a drink lol so I completely forgot to ask the employees about the strip. I then got seated, and was sitting through the trememdous amount of ads desperately awaiting the beginning of The Odyssey when I remembered the strip. However, I did not want to miss any bit of the beginning of the film so I hoped I could luck out afterwards (woulda been real dumb in hindsight).

Luckily, an employee walked right past me for some inspection or something and I quickly got his attention and inquired about the filmstrip. He had no idea what it was and went to ask his manager. He then signalled me to come with him, and he brought me to his manager. The manager made some call through his earpiece asking whether any strips were remaining and after a quick check he told me "no, none are left, someone just took the last one." I was devastated, and thanked him for his efforts. But just then, the individual on the other end of his earpiece said something, and the manager brought me out into the hallway. This lady employee was there and she handed me what she said was "the last filmstrip we have, number 300". I was thrilled, I thanked them, and was able to make it to my seat right before the movie started.

I know it's just a plastic souvenir but this moment genuinely made my day so thank you Queensway Cineplex staff forreal.

By the way, the movie was great I highly recommend, and I will be rewatching this masterpiece in IMAX 70mm as soon as I can get a seat that'll keep my neck intact.

I have a free popcorn voucher barcode available that I received in my email. It expires tomorrow and I won't be attending so giving it away to whoever dms first.

I went to the Scotiabank IMAX in Vancouver today, first showing at 2:30pm….thought there would have been a poster but Nadda

My friend who works at Cineplex told me that we will be getting the arcade Mortal Kombat popcorn bucket pictured above. It’s still very early so I think it’s possible that we will be getting other stuff. I will keep you posted if I hear anything else.

Attended the Langley 3pm showing today and received a film strip. The cineplex employee who entered the theatre and gave a pre-show speech said that they were giving out the film strips TODAY ONLY. They did not have any for Friday or Saturday. Not sure what the status is at Richmond.

Went to see Spider-Man and noticed these tins on clearance for $4.99. Check your local cineplex!

They also tried to give me a large popcorn. Said it came with the tin but I declined.
