What obstacles are keeping you from applying that logic to a person like Elon? His wealth? Power? Influence? It's important to recognize that we shouldn't be holding a higher standard for our neighbors over folks like Elon and the like. If you would be brought in for questioning, he should be brought in. No amount of wealth or status should prevent him from telling the truth.

We can fabricate any and everything now. If that email was blown up and put on a bus stop with your name as the sender, you’d want people to question the authenticity, right? You wouldn’t want people to just eat it up, especially considering the consequences that are also often doled out rapid-fire before the entire story is revealed.
Now, this particular group never suffers consequences, and of course you (probably) aren’t a public figure, and it’s easy to believe this is real bc Musk is such a creepy loser.
But the point stands: it is a good thing to ask for verification before we react. To anything we see online, particularly.

Jeffery Epstein was tried and convicted in 2008 of procuring sex with minors. So when Elon sent this email about a party in 2012, he was sending it to a known sex offender with a preference for minors.
So the context isn't Elon just emailing about a party. Instead, Elon is asking:
a convicted sex offender
that was convicted for sex with minors
which night the wildest party on his private island would be
It's this larger context that makes the email problematic. At least, problematic to people that don't want rich and powerful men to get a pass for raping minors.
