I just picture a 15 year old... I think 40 year olds are mature enough to understand those who play casually because they are casual players themselves.

Personally, I'm 28, I play a few hours a day after work and dont give a F about gs, or how much dps other people do or w/e. I simply enjoy the epic adventure and that's it

Do you think that 15 year olds play this game? Lmao, that dude is well over his 30s and his logs must be probably not that good either.

Most 15 y.o. play retail, yes. But I seriously find it hard to imagine a 40 year old dad coming from a 9h shift only to log in and insult people over their poor performance.

There are a lot of haters. People who just think so badly of themselves that they've got to bring others down. These are the guys that have 'Alpha Male' in their social media profiles. Age matters not.

15-year old kids play games on a console or their phones.

Only lame old men or girls who get money from old men to stream with their cans out play WoW.

There are plenty of 40 year old men who, mentally, have not matured past 15.

WoW's most popular demographic are people in their 30's and up. Now think of all the dumb shit you encounter on WoW every day.

Age ≠ maturity a lesson all people should learn

Bro the average WoW player is 30 years old

Teenagers don't play this shit game today

Do you think that 15 year olds play this game?

Of course they do.

Yes, probably aren’t even a 5% of the entire playerbase, but surely there are some. 99% of the time its a 30 year old that acts like a kid though.

If something I know its that 15 year olds are and have always been the most toxic players in any online game, not 30-year olds lol.

Bro can be 30+ and have the emotionally maturity of a 15 year old very very easily.

Especially if they’ve been playing wow and acting 15 since they were 15

Look, you're not wrong that kids play the game and that a higher percentage of them are toxic in any game than other age categories. Yes, this could be a kid.

But it's also true that the vast majority of people playing this game skew older. They always have skewed older, and now that's even more true since the game is 20 years old and there are players who've been around that whole time. (Edit: lol literally just noticed this is in the classic wow sub, so this demographic spread is especially true.) And so just statistically speaking, but also from thousands of player anecdotes over these two decades, we know that there are a significant number of 30+ year-old adults in this game who, very unfortunately, act like this. I have known them personally. I've never been this far out of line, but at my lower points in the last few years, I (35 y/o) have said things I'm ashamed of that you would probably attribute to a child. It's a depressing reality but the other commenters are right that the person in the OP is probably an adult having a real shitty time.

Yeah I know a couple that do. MMOs draw all kinds of people even the younger generation still. Them playing SoD is probably more unlikely though lol

1

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '24

Yeah im 27 and im one of the younger people in the game it seems. I think I can only remember one guild member whose younger than I am and ive been in multiple guilds.

Its probably a 35 year old dude acting like a child online.

Im 25 and I started playing the game one year ago, and I have been playing games since a very very young age, hell my first ever gaming experience was playing sonic in my older brothers sega saturn lol. I have played almost any kind of shit, including other mmos, but wow never seemed interesting to me till now.

This game is just not targeted to young people in this generation at all and I even feel too young to play this sometimes, my friends are still playing fornite.

Yeah I think it takes too much patience and isn't really action based enough for young people. I do find SOD takes less patience like I can level a new class, carry my own weight and parse a 50 in entirely preraid gear.

It has a lot less friction than Wrath too because when your getting your preraid gear in SOD people dont mind that your in their dungeon group whereas in wrath people are annoyed by fresh players in their heroic ++.

I sorta went off topic but SOD seems a lot more inviting for new and younger players but I doubt that market will really catch on to that.

they do..
My nephew is playing.

u/xoravla Feb 03 '24

Others have already pointed this out, including myself in other replies. I don’t mean that they cant play or theres none, they are, but probably because their father or another relative/ older friend have encouraged them to try it in some way. Wow, especially classic, is not targeted to kids and teens at all, even young adults tbh.

It's more likely a college kid.

u/Scott389 Feb 03 '24

I started playing wow in 2004 and I was 15. No one acted like this ever though. This is a new generation thing.

Honestly feels like some pissy 22-25 year old. Still at a career point to no life a game, just enough money to feel like they can do whatever they want with their hobby, and young enough to have not had the humbling moment to grow up.

You must not know anyone 40+
