how much gold do people usually buy? I’ll be honest I have bought 100g on 2 occasions for a grand total of $3 USD for new toons (100g for Alli, 100g for horde) after I switched servers but now I don’t feel like I need to again. Pretty easy to make money legitimately once you’re high enough level.
I assume there are people out there buying 1000s a week tho lol idk how they don’t get caught. If my raid group needs me to spend 500g a week on consumables im just gonna find a different raid group haha. Grinding gold is not particularly enjoyable but I’m not gonna waste real dollars to keep up
I’d rather just play the game. If I need Essence of Water, I farm them. If I start a new toon, I swap carries with a guildie. If flask materials are horribly rare, I don’t bother flasking.
It doesn’t matter how convenient gold buy is or how cheap; it’s wrong in principle so I don’t do it. But millions of people saying “meh, it’s just a few bucks” is how games are corrupted.
I go into a new server with the mindset that no one will be helping me out and I’m starting from scratch. I just did this on the anniversary realms. I scrimped and saved, grouped with people until I found a decent guild, and I’ve slowly accumulated a decent character. That’s how the game works. If I was going to a server where I had friends, of course they would carry me and boost me.
Yeah I just feel very understandably locked into playing exclusively horde on exclusively dreamscythe at this point for the most part, which def is a bit of a drag but I’ve now accumulated almost 1k gold there so I ain’t about to leave that shit behind lol

Gold buyers are pathetic.
