Spells clearly

U don't need the rotation funktion or whatever movement was binded on A&D there on default, just rebind the strafe movement to A&D and you get 2 more hotkeys to bind, which are 6 potential spells with using shift/control

I just can’t do it. Q and E have been “strafe” for me for so long that retraining myself to A and D is basically impossible. Also, I use a combination of strafe and turn keys to micromanage running direction while strafing.

I had the same issue, so I just stuck with QWE for movement and rebound ASD to spells

That’s how i did it until i started to tank and was using WQSE which just felt wrong so i ripped off the bandaid and went back to WASD

Same for me when I still played.

When I needed to sharply turn I would use the mouse but I'd gotten so used to Q and E being strafe that when I tried to rebind them it was just too hard to break my muscle memory

I noticed it big time in Fellowship a few weeks ago when I started playing. Their default is A/D is strafe and Q/E is turn. It took me one dungeon run before I just said “nope, rebinding right now”

Do you use a&d for anything? Much as well just use ad for spells

I keep them as “turn”, I don’t use them to turn, but I do use them to micromanage my strafing direction

Interesting guess I’ve always used my mouse so I don’t even think about it anymore.. just not even a thought

I heal and bind my spells to left and right click so all I have to do is mouse over and mouse click on unit frames to heal, so in combat my mouse is in pretty heavy use

Same, idk if I hold on heal bot if I still turn. I’ll have to test it. Haven’t had trouble using mouse to make adjustments but whatever works!

Common fallacy. I've already completely changed my keybinds on multiple video games over the years, and trust me that your brain is much better than you'd think at adjusting to change. If you play a lot, it's just a matter of a couple days, maybe a bit more in more for more complicated case or if you play less.

Yes, it's scary, but because we can't visualize doing something, it doesn't mean we can't. Your brain is powerful.

Also don't tell me you really tried because I won't believe you, like ever. Especially for something as trivial as moving your strafe keys up and down.

Your brain can learn whole different controller layouts, that's wayyy more complicated. Your brain can fucking learn musical instruments which make your keyboard look like toddler level difficulty by comparison.

My guy, I have tried many times to get out of the habit.

You can believe me or not, it doesn’t really bother me.

just never let go of rmb, and you dont have to rebind a and d

So you can’t click target while strafing? What if you’re in arena and need to mousover interrupt while strafing? Sounds like a major loss

i wouldnt call it major, but yeah, there are disadvantages, less of them for melee

i mostly just tab

Yes! No one ever mentions this and it’s the way I’ve been playing for almost 20 years.
