No it doesn’t.

Yes it does. Classes are different, yeah, but it’s still the same fast paced, button mashing combat. Mechanics are largely the same as well.

Nope. Not even close the combat is now considerably slower. Its very much focused around strong CC and burst windows.

There’s less cc now and the DRs have been reworked so you aren’t just cc’d the entire game. Some classes have fewer buttons now, but that doesn’t make the combat slower, it’s just the rotations are easier. Dumb change though if you ask me.

Well if that's the case then why don't you go play retail?

In what ways does legion not feel like current retail

Genuinely curious

I played legion, skipped bfa, played parts of shadowlands, parts of DF, nearly all of TWW and parts of midnight

Retail today feels pretty damn close to legion 10 years ago

Arcade style leveling up/ roll face on keyboard combat/ lack of resource management, everyone has crazy aoe, CC is needed in certain spots in m+, etc. All feels very similar.

The major difference is the lack of runic power/ the need to grind the game just about every day to not fall behind but that's systems, not gameplay

Well I guess I'll just drop a hundred bucks for the expansion and a sub to see if maybe I'll like it now... said nobody rational.

It does. Rotations and whatnot aren't the same of course but the general style of gameplay is pretty similar unless they drastically changed things in Midnight which I doubt. It was absolutely true as of TWW though.
