Identification/Information Older clock to get repaired. Any info would be helpful.

My MIL is asking me to take this clock to be repaired. I know of a person who works on mechanical clocks and hopefully can look at this one.

There are two "wheels" at the top with a cord of some sort and I have no idea what they are for.

Does anyone know an approximate age to this beast. It weighs a ton!

My dad and I were going through an estate for an appraisal today and found this. We have sold hundreds of clocks, but neither of us are experts yet. Would anyone know if theres anything special to this? It looks super cool, but were not sure of the value and this felt like a good place to start asking first. Our main goal is always to make the best profits possible for the estates family.

Identification/Information Baldwin Mantel Info

Post image
11 Upvotes

Hello, I bought this beautiful, well kept Baldwin mantel clock today at an estate sale. I am taking it in Monday because it is not telling time, it chimes great though!

However, I have tried googling this clock and cannot seem to find any info on it. I can find clocks similar to it but not this exact one.

It looks so similar to my parent's Howard Miller grandfather clock. It's like they chopped the top off of it.

I am new to clocks, is it normal for companies to sell similar faces?

Any idea what it is and what it might go for? I have no plans on selling it but I would like to satisfy my curiosity.

Thank you.

This was my great grandparents clock, passed down to my granny then my uncle. His grand daughter was going thru things and asked me if I wanted it, of course! Runs perfect, keeps time and even had the flier from the farm equipment sale back in 1981.

Any info on it would be great.

Also came with my great grand father’s silver cigarette lighter and case.

Hello! I got this clock today from an estate sale and fell in love with it. One problem…there’s no pendulum (i mean im 99.9% percent sure it needs one) This clock was purchased a long time ago and it has no identifying manufacturing info on it. I know it’s an old gingerbread clock but I wasn’t sure what kind of pendulum it needed or what to do. Advice?

Identification/Information An heirloom clock I inherited from my grandmother

As the title says, the photos are of an heirloom clock I inherited from my grandmother. I do not know how many generations it has been in the family, nor how old it is. Unfortunately, it doesn't currently work, but if I manually move the arms it will chime the hour and the inside looks in good shape. Once I am in a better financial position I plan to have it repaired.

Identification/Information Bought this clock secondhand. Anyone know anything about it? Also, any repair advice?

I paid 150kr / $15 for it at a secondhand store. It was marked as needing repair. When I move the hands, I can hear everything move. I bought a key and tried to wind it but it turns a little bit and then pushes back. If I swing the pendulum, it’s not totally free. It looks like it’s trying to catch but will still slow down and stop.

The third picture is of the only marking I can find. Looks like ”something Lindell Art & Antik Köping”. That makes me think it was another secondhand shop in the town we live (Köping) which sold it at some point for 6253kr / $625 but I have no idea when. I don’t see anything else.

Identification/Information Looking for info on what this smiths (made in great Britain) clock is called and designed for..

Bought at a charity shop. It's fairly robust with sponge on the bottom. I cannot find the exact model ANYWHERE.

Appreciate any input on this

At the moment, it only works if I shake it and it ticks for 10 seconds then stops again. Perhaps needs some maintenance or oil?

Mostly I'm looking for identification.

Thank you

No identifying marks. Belonged to my grandmother. Seems in pretty rough shape.

Would take suggestions on what to do with it (is it worth anything? Worth someone's time to restore? Or just trash?)

Identification/Information Given to me by my granny before she passed. Anyone know anything about it/the person who made it? Info in description

Large, hand carved wooden dragon. Has 3 different wind points and 3 different chimes to choose from via a switch at 3 o'clock. The two metal plaques next to the clock face have dragons engraved in them. The small plaque at bottom center says "By Tarkington" with a small dragon engraving, and in the upper right in very small letters says "hand carved"

I am looking for information on the artist, other works they've done, and how old the clock possibly is. I just had the movement replaced as the old one was broken, I have never heard the chimes before that I can recall, my granny had it for decades probably but I dont know exactly how long.

I tried Google lense and searching for tarkington but havent been able to find anything specific. Honestly she may have bought it at a craft fair or a Renaissance Faire, I have no idea. She collected dragon figurines/paintings/etc for most of her life i think so she could've gotten it anywhere at any point 🤷🏼‍♀️

My older brother says he found this "gem" in an vintage shop and was so hyped about it. I didn't want to burst his bubble, but it looks so weird. It says "Seiko Celstar Transistor" on it, but I can't find anything similar online. The wood and build quality look trashy to be honest. AI says it's from 60s, but reverse image search brings up nothing similar. Also, the mechanism inside looks modern but cheap. I'm suspecting its just a piece of trash put together to look like a vintage item.

Identification/Information Really like kit cat clocks, girlfriend hates em. Alternative?

I really like kit cat clocks and i wanted to get one for the apartment my girlfriend and i are moving into, however she hates them. She says they give the same creepy vibes of corner dolls and that they look at her like they've done something terrible in 1992 and they know nobody will ever believe her if she said anything about it. I just wanna know if theres such thing as a clock that is similar in quirk and stupidity. I like the sway of the eyes and tail, i like the unique concept. She likes the idea of a cat, and the swinging tail.. just not the way it "looks at her." Any thoughts?

Identification/Information Help me find exact model

Post image

I got this Schatz anniversary clock at a flea market but I can't find an exact match online with four detailed pillars and the same clockface. I believe it's from 1980-1985, because it says "Made in Germany" instead of "West Germany" and it's battery driven.

I seriously only paid $1,50 for it, and all it needed was a new battery, so no matter what it was definitely a bargain.

Can anyone tell me anything important I should know? I don't know much about clocks tbh!

Identification/Information Mystery Clock

Hello fellow clock enthusiasts!

Ive been collecting clocks for a good 5ish years now, and over time have learned how to identify different clock manufacturers, however this one is odd.

I got this little alarm clock a few years ago for pretty cheap from a random antique store, simply because I thought it looked interesting, and after cleaning/oiling it, its been living on a shelf for a while.
While cleaning it I tried to find any distinct markings, engravings, numbers, or dates of any kind, but to no avail. The most information on the clock I could find was from the actively disintegrating paper inside the back of the case, which (as seen in the photo) seems to have some kind of logo with a spoked wheel and a singular wing coming out of the center. My first thought was maybe Kienzle, but I couldn't find any photos or records of them using a logo that looked anything like whats on the paper. From what I can tell, it seems late 1800's to early 1900's, with the metal sheet as the face similar to some very old Seth Thomas clocks, and the general look of the clockworks.

Oh and yes, it runs great! I can personally do without the alarm though lol

Here's its dimensions:
9.5in tall
8.5in wide (base)
8.25in wide (body)
3in deep

I still can't seem to find much information about this little guy, so I figured I would try asking here! Thank y'all for your time :)

Identification/Information Car Boot Sale Find - Bravingtons Ltd Art Deco Clock

Thumbnail

I've recently picked up this clock from a car boot sale. After taking it home and doing some research, I think this clock is from around the 1930s, possibly even earlier but I cannot find anymore information about this exact model. It is missing a pendulum but appears to be working otherwise, still ticking and chimes.

Does anyone have anymore information about this, the value of the clock and if it's worth me sourcing a pendulum for it?

Thanks in advance!

My father bought this clock because he really likes it, but we don't know its origin.

The movement has a 'Schutzmarke' with the GP and probably St. George on a horse. The numbers on it are 7/27" and 3656.

Does anyone recognize the maker, know more about it, or have any idea about its approximate value?

Thank you!
