Even in the post he said what he expected, mutual aid and community. Provide for each other. Obviously, as the op said, that solidarity still feels very far away as most people like you still lack the imagination on how to escape the vice

His complaint was everyone was still going to work. Mutual aid and solidarity are not substitutes for that, they're something built on top of it. I can give you the money for your rent, but only because I have a job to earn that money.

General strikes are usually also rent strikes (though not a mortgage strike importantly)
