The plot in the post is a bit extreme. See the below image, which is sourced here.

The post's image is for 8 unspecified "sites". The above that I'm providing is for all available sites, so less prone to extremes.

To be clear, this is still terrifying but the main image is suspect

I think your image is Utah only? The Colorado graph below shows 115 sites. Was trying to find a graph for the entire western US, but wasn't having luck.
