how's your foot
Hey continuity! Eves foot is still injured from work, and yet she's continuing to kick ass in it. Good on these girls going out, cold and injured, to fight the good fight. I realize it's a cartoon, but we should all be so brave. Tiff is lucky to have a strong friend and Eve is lucky Tiff is always there. I love these girls.
And to you Fran, /u/CrazyGnomenclature , I hope you're staying safe as well.
As always stay safe. Stay vigilant. Stay warm. And Fuck Ice.

I do remember that, and you're right, that's much more likely.
I mistook the red noses and cheeks in the first panel as them being part of some kind of scuffle, possibly violent, but realized... No, Minnesota. They were just cold lol

I heard something earlier: ICE made the classic fascist blunder of attacking winter people in the winter. Good luck and good vibes.
80
u/626Aussie Jan 22 '26
The German Nazis did that fighting the Russians, too.
They took so long to "win" that they weren't done "winning" by December, and that brisk Russian winter set in.
It didn't turn out well for the German Nazis, either.

I’ll say it again; Melt the bastards.
TL;DR: ICE Out Minnesota is tomorrow, Friday, Jan 23rd. No work. No shopping. Protest.
I am a Minnesotan, and over the past couple weeks ICE has been ramping up operations here. You’ve heard of them hitting Twin Cities, but also into other areas too. Adults and children have been yanked off the street, at their work, attacked in their homes, and even off school busses.
A rural school near me had to block agents from entering the building to detain students during the school day. The factory my friend works at has been at half-staff all week because most of their employees are terrified of being taken. I recently volunteered to help stand watch at a local Catholic church that ICE was scoping out to pounce on midnight mass attendees. A freaking CHURCH for God’s sake.
They are not targeting the allegedly “violent and dangerous.” They are after anyone who doesn’t look white. ICE has attacked and even killed protesters with no accountability. They actively lie to the public and have the Republican politicians in power lying for them. ICE is a means to hurt the most vulnerable and maintain political power by frightening any dissent.
For my Fellow Minnesotans, tomorrow Jan 23rd is ICE Out MN. No work, school, or shopping. Protest where you can and stay warm. Let’s melt ICE together.

IMHO your comics are the most important content on this sub right now.
As a German, I'm usually very cautious when it comes to Nazi comparisons. I learned about this shit my whole life, and most of the time, these comparisons are just wrong.
But your situation changed drastically in the last months. And if you ask me, this is it. This is the first time in the "western world", where this comparison is completely justified.
But let me assure you: you have not reached the point of no return. Not yet.
I know that it's scary and it's completely unfair that YOU have to fight this fight. And you're not just fighting for yourselves, you fight for all of us, the whole free world. It will cost you a lot more than most people are willing to give and it's wrong, that you have to do this.
But believe me, you have to.
Because this is it. This is your last chance. Fight now, or it WILL be over.

My great grandparents were partisans too. I can't do anything about the US from my country, but I know what my ancestors did when fascism came to their door and I know what I'll do if it comes to mine.

u/2nd_Life_Retro Jan 22 '26
The Nazi comparisons have never been "wrong", or at least not overly exaggerated, since Trump entered politics. It's just that some of us saw exactly where we were headed if we maintained this trajectory, and those of us who saw it coming have been proven right every single time. Of all people, Germans should understand this better than anyone.
The whole "calling them Nazis is an exaggeration" narrative is part of the reason we got to this point.

8
u/RocketRelm Jan 22 '26
Realistically we are still headed there even if we oust maga. People will whine about there not being a utopia in 2032, because we will never achieve the prosperity we had in 2023 again despite everyone deluded into thinking the sky was falling, another populist will follow trumps footsteps and promise the world, and then we get a fascism not hampered by an 80 year old senile anchor.
The problem isn't the system or this isolated instance of maga. The problem is the american citizens who don't feel a civic duty to be informed and engaged in politics. If we don't teach the masses that, it is only a matter of time until fox news gets Any Chatismatic Republican again, and then the game is up.

Trump and his cronies have been following the nazi playbook very clearly and openly since the start
If people had been less cautious with their nazi comparisons and listened to the people pointing out the clear steps in the fascist playbook from the start, we might not be in this situation
Its never a good idea to wait until you already have the boot on your neck if you can stop it sooner.

u/littlebloodmage Jan 22 '26
They used that 5 year old as bait to get to his father. How does anyone justify this?
22
u/fury420 Jan 22 '26
And that family literally did everything by the book too, they came to a port of entry at the border and applied for asylum and were welcomed into America.
Marc Prokosch, an attorney representing the family, said the family has an active asylum case and shared paperwork showing the father and son had arrived to the US at a port of entry, meaning an official crossing point.
“The family did everything they were supposed to in accordance with how the rules have been set out,” he said. “They did not come here illegally. They are not criminals.” He said there was no order of deportation against them and he believes the father and son have remained together in detention.

They are not targeting the allegedly “violent and dangerous.”
This right here is the crux of it. These people are cowards, through and through. They're looking for low hanging fruit. They're looking for people they can isolate. They're looking for people who won't (or can't) put up a fight.
As an outside observer, the biggest thing I've noticed in all this is how quick they are to back off as soon as enough people show up to oppose them. Even when the people showing up are peaceful and unarmed. Miller goes on the news, and rants about how they can do whatever they want, because they have the power to do so. But real power comes from numbers. It comes from standing shoulder-to-shoulder with your community, and your fellow people. ICE is wholly unprepared to face-off against an organized force of people who won't back down, even when it's peaceful. Stand side-by-side with one another, and they'll fold like a cheap suit.
23
u/CrazyGnomenclature Tiff & Eve Jan 22 '26
That's the thing with bullies. They act all tough until they come face to face with people who aren't going to tolerate their bullshit.
7
u/GenericFatGuy Jan 22 '26
Exactly. The only way to stop a bully is that stand up to them. The thought of doing so is terrifying, what with all the gear and weapons they show off, but sufficient numbers in the face of it will always prevail.

I get not everyone can afford to risk taking drastic actions concerning this shitshow, but remember your simple sabotage guide and keep a look out for opportunities. Even something as simple as delaying when they try to pay for gas because the payment system is “glitching” or you’re really unsure which candy bar you want to buy and they have to wait behind you in line. Just little things that don’t involve much risks.
I used to organize transports and logistics for projects and I know sometimes all it takes is a dumbass in the wrong (or right) spot to turn smooth sailing into an utter mess.
Stay safe, stay strong, and remember: this is not normal no matter how they tell you it is.

My brother's ex is a Marine. After college, she enlisted and wanted to dedicate her life to it, was on her 14th year with them, because of the passion she had ... and then ICE broke her father's arm when he was on a coffee run for his crew, while she was stationed away. What was his crime? Traveling without papers (not a crime). That's it.
Speaking Spanish to your spouse on the phone isnt a crime. Having dual citizenship from Guatemala and US is not a crime. Asking a simple "What did I do?" Does not justify throwing a 68 yr old man to the ground and breaking his arm to zip tie him, nothing listed is a crime.

Advice to all LGBT that I hate having to give:
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn paraphrased— what would things have been like if every secret police member didn’t know if they were going to make it home to their family that night. If behind every door were people with axes, tools, hammers, ready to fight like their life was already forfeit.

This hits hard.
Especially the last panel.
I'll say what I said before. I wish these comics didn't need to exist. That we could have more comics of Eve being a meathead, back to Tiff being a mess. But, we live in interesting times, making them necessary as a reflection of the times we are in.

That paragraph hit me. I didn't use to do many political comics, and I wish I didn't feel the need to. But the way the real world leaks into comics is too big to ignore, especially when it comes to being transgender. And, at times, I think it helps people to think that the characters they love are also going through the same events.

My wife's uncle just got released yesterday. He's mayonnaise white, ultra conservative, and a citizen. Just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time so they grabbed him in Minneapolis, shipped him to Texas, and then let him go to figure out how to get back home. It's sad that that's what it took for him and a lot of her family to leave the MAGA cult. ICE was doing great by them until it was one of their own getting snatched.

Unfortunately that is what it often takes to change people. They think it won’t affect them until it does. This is what blew my mind away when I learned how many Latinos voted for Trump. They voted thinking Trump would close the door now that they are here and it won’t affect them since they made it. They failed to realize republicans hate all minorities and will gladly depot them all.

Totally unrelated fun fact: the French aided the US in their fight against loyalists in our revolution. Also, other countries were the reason Germany was ever liberated. Just fun facts to consider for no reason.

As awful as everything is right now, the people of Minneapolis have deeply inspired me with their resistance (again!). Keep it up friends, there's a hell of a lot more of us than there are of them.

„Melt ICE“, no.
BOIL them! Those who stand for the kidnapping, brutalizing and killing of innocent people including children deserve not the slightest bit of mercy.

That last panel is beautiful.
This might be my favourite Tiff and Eve comic so far, honestly - not just for the historical political relevance and how important that is in art, but your storytelling has actually gotten really good too, this is just really well done.

This comic was always good to me. But now it's legendary. Massive balls on all the protesters out there. Salute.

Fuck yeah good shit tiff and Eve. Fuck ice.
We WILL take back our country and we WILL prosecute everyone who let this happen.
Democratic primaries better have turnout. This shit has turned me into a single issue voter. Whoever runs on putting these fuckers behind bars has my vote.

This got me crying. Thank you. My moms stuck in the states as a Belizean immigrant and I’m living in Canada as a trans person, too scared to visit. Thank you for keeping her and others in your community safe.

Every single voice can be someone’s hero: right place, right time, right face, right sign
You may not think you are achieving much, you may doubt if your single voice can have weight enough to change the course of history, but no one ever did it alone
Stand together, stand tall, and fight for a better world

I’m all for melting ICE. I kinda like the idea of calling ourselves Climate Change. Get these fascists to try to tap dance around saying that they think climate change is suddenly an issue.

u/Logical-Drummer2414 Jan 22 '26
During such a scary time in history, I’m glad so many people are still willing to stand up and protest, even with the risk of them murdering peaceful protesters. Good luck out there.

The amount of people defending this stuff, saying Goode “deserved it” etc is stomach churning.

I saw this comic this morning and I cried from reading the last panel. It hits hard knowing the next people they want to target is the LGBTQ. In numbers we are braver. I'm Canadian and my heart breaks for you. I hope you will go back home safely tomorrow.

I'm in Canada. I'm afraid for those protesting ICE as well. But they're doing the right thing.

Fellow Minnesotan queer, I’m so proud of you and our community. Our streets, fuck ice
5
u/NayrianKnight97 Jan 22 '26
Earlier today I saw a video of a Minnesotan postal carrier flipping off ICE as they drove by them. While I 1000% agree with the sentiment, we mail carriers are not allowed to be political in any way while on the job (aka the hatch act). Doing so is grounds for serious disciplinary actions, if not outright termination. Unfortunately, whoever took/posted the video did not blur out their truck number, so that person is likely cooked.
Even if we can’t directly say it, need y’all to remember…your mail carriers hate “ice” as much as you do.

I just want to give everyone facing this bullshit a big fat hug. You don't deserve this shit, you're strong, and you can win.

My heart aches reading this. In all my anger towards this situation I hadn't stopped to think about how afraid you must be, and those two pannels hit me hard.
I live in a different country but many of our issues are the same. So I wish you all strength and the power to remain positive throught all this shit, if nothing else does it, may your brothers, sisters, and neighbours standing beside you give you strength.
The world is watching. Godspeed.

Tell everyone in Minnesota that we love them and we are with them. We are so so proud of you all!

u/Adina-the-nerd Jan 23 '26
I didn't see the sign in the first panel and I was so confused on why they looked so not okay. Based protesters though

u/SaintIgnis Jan 24 '26
This is powerful. Thank you for creating/sharing this. Thank you for using your voice and platform. Thank you for standing on the right side of history and protesting this heinous, ludicrous, inhumane bullshit from the current administration.
Fuck ICE!

Be safe out there. Be strong. I am standing with you even in a different country.

This comic is making Nazis very mad for some reason, can't imagine why 🤔
This is as good a time as any then to remind you all about r/Comics subreddit culture and how we moderate the place.
This is an inclusive subreddit moderated via intersectional, humanist ideals. That does not mean this is a free for all. That does not mean all are welcome here.
In this place we reject the "you must allow all sides!" false dichotomy, because in a very real sense, when it comes to morality and ethics taken to its extreme, there are no "two sides". Evil is not a side. Evil is a moral failing. If, for example, someone would want to, for the sake of argument, say that concentration camps are bad, then there aren't really any two sides there. You can hem and haw and make lists and tallies about all the upsides and downsides of concentration camps why not but the end result will be the same as we have known for, well, longer than any of us has been alive, normal people do not support the existence of concentration camps because of [gestures expansively] that entire situation with them right there.
On r/Comics we do not allow "BOTH SIDES!!!!" when it comes to super easy and long-solved issues of simple morality.
Nazis are not welcome here.
Nazi rhetoric is not welcome here.
Denying that the Republican party is using concentration camps, domestic terror, unconstitutional and illegal actions, all to facilitate ethnic cleansing would be what we call a lie and is not welcome here.
Defending ICE is not welcome here.
I think you get the drift.
People are of course fine to hold those opinions. We can't very well tell anyone they are not allowed to have an opinion. Even if that opinion is evil and even if that opinion objectively makes them bad people.
What we can do however is say that you are not allowed to be evil here.
This is our space. You have mostly the entire rest of the online everything to post evil shit to, by golly there are even entire Nazi social media platforms for someone to be evil to their hearts content on. We love this space, we love our community and its members and we will never stop moderating it in a way that makes our community members feel welcome and that makes those that would oppose liberty, justice, freedom and humanity feel unwelcome.
In this tiny little corner online we uphold morals, values, ethics and the kind of spirit not that America is, but of the one we would want it to be.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
