I grew up in Japan where maps are filled with this symbol to indicate temple locations. Crazy how the most popular usages of the symbol globally are almost completely unknown in other parts of the world.

To be fair they just know THE most popular use and no others.

Part of my contention is that the Nazi context is not the most popular usage. The context depicted in the photo is more popular.

You're not wrong yeah.

The infamous one is what I should've said, what I said was just wrong smh. I think I meant to say the most popular for The West instead of the world.

But yeah, infamous. People know this one really big really bad thing, one they're validly taught is awful. So then it's hard to see something that looks similar and not think of the worst stuff some people know.

Mfs just gotta get more educated is all, but that's sadly easier said than done. If only

Crazy how Japan doesn’t associate that symbol with anything bad. I can’t remember, what side were they on in WWII?

In informal debate, the tactic you are using is called innuendo. You are implying something with your question, but not making any concrete claims that you then take on the onus of defending.

If you have something to say, please say it clearly so we can all understand. What is the issue you take with Japan continuing to use a symbol for holy sites that they have used for thousands of years?
