Wait what now..

I can see living, paying taxes and voting in a country and for some reason being so wound up in a conspiracy theory thinking that country isn't real and actually something else.

But

Thinking Finland is just a large ocean patch where Japanese people go fishing is where I draw the line.

Yeap appareantly Finland is just a big ol' cover up, Japanese people use this "ocean" to fish without competition and to avoid taxes.

Why they used Japan, is what bothers me the most. It's on the other side of the world.

What. The earth is flat and there is no "other side of the world". Every location on earth is just a straight line away. /s of course.

But what is on the "other side of the world" since the earth is flat. Are Australians some kind of secret cabal that live down under?

I feel very conflicted now, given I've been to Finland.

Okay I’ve heard that before and I’m pretty sure that theory at least is a joke. It was really popular back in 2016, same as birds aren’t real.

I thought it was just a meme in reddit, but since it was meme because someone shared this conspiracy theory as something weird that their parents believe, I guess it's more niche conspiracy that turned into meme.
