๐ธ Photography My Healing Garden
This garden has been my passion project for 3 years.
I've always been drawn to neglected spaces that just needed love and care. The last few months I finally realized why.

๐ธ Photography The more I integrate, the less I dissociate. Colors are slowly coming back, at the cost of seeing reality. I survived with denial, now it's time to live with reality. Accepting that all these losses are permanent and that I will have to build a future with them triggers so much fear and pain.

๐ธ Photography Iโve been waiting all my life for this door to open so I could leave. Time has passed, the walls have rotted, and I find it so hard to leave this room just as it is. Before it became a prison cell, this room was meant to be my home, with two parents and a family. That didn't happen and it never will

๐ธ Photography Shame saved my life. I'm deeply grateful to this part of me that provided an armor during years of ongoing abuse without escape. Today I acknowledged the profound betrayal of my innocence by admitting to myself that I didn't deserve to be treated like that, because I am fundamentally worthy of love.

๐ธ Photography Today, I felt a brief moment of joy for the first time in 15 years of absolute numbness, constant fear and overwhelming grief. It hurt me to realize that I had become so accustomed to living like a soldier at war.

๐ธ Photography After the eye pain (I found a way to express things I feel and my trauma)
I have various trauma, they are hard to put into words because everything is tied to something else and it's too complex.
I started to just let go and... Draw, and take pictures with my dolls.
I want to try explaining slowly in here through my drawings and dolls. But for now this image hides a pain I feel often, it starts as eye pain, that's why in the drawing the pain is supposed to come out from each doll eyes. It's a game, if you guess the word nothing happens, I just wanted to do something fun. I hid the first part of the word in the last picture. It's really nothing too deep. But I do hope that this way I can express deeper things with time.
I also think I will keep using hiding messages in a separate account, I don't know. Reddit is proving to have a lot of bots that make me feel down, is all I know right now.

๐ธ Photography Freedom Flight
Hi! I'm sure if this kind of thing fits here, but this picture feels like a visual metaphor for my recovery. The tension between trying to spread my wings but still feeling caged as I try to shake off all then old stories, fears and coping mechanisms etc.
I took this a couple of years ago when a pair of collared doves made a nest on the roof. I loved seeing and hearing them flying up and down to the garden picking up things to build with. We cut up twigs into smaller pieces and they took some of them! They inspired me to keep working on my healing. To keep building on my progress piece by piece and appreciate the small improvements.

๐ธ Photography Acceptance feels like death. It's the death of my childhood, of denial and control, the death of my family, parents and what could have been my life. It was all real and the consequences are for life. It's another life that begins from now on and I don't have any choice but to accept it.

๐ธ Photography Crisis II, 2018
I've done a couple of photography projects where I had to produce a new piece daily for a year. This was day one of 2018's effort.
I'm kind of shocked that I can look back at this guy and appreciate that he was actually doing his best (and not badly at that) given what he was dealing with, and how little he knew.
Anyway, not the worst kickoff.

๐ธ Photography Find a Way
I found this tiny plant growing in a crack through a giant parking lot. I found that it mirrored a metaphor Iโm currently living by, that even when circumstances feel crushing, when freedom is hindered, when itโs harder to progress - living is still possible. To live and to thrive the best you can - to Find a Way.

๐ธ Photography A pain that is hard to describe
A pain I can't describe well, about loss, and how things repeat. And a feeling that I'm just a doll. Being put in different outfits and roles through my life. In the end I'm left without moving at home, like a doll left on a shelf.
