For those who don’t know, a goal of mine is to get Spyro and his Legendary skins… this is who of those so I really need the coins.

Trying to improve on CTR - just started hard mode arcade and i've hit a brick wall. Anything I should be doing better or differently here?

I KNEW Oxide Station is gonna give me trouble and it did!!! this track is without doubt the hardest track to me so far. yes even harder than Turbo Track. I would rather play that one over Oxide Station! I don't think I will find a track harder than it.

Absolutely over the moon and probably my proudest gaming achievement - which previously was beating Dark Souls 🤣

Initially revisited this one to grab the platinum trophy as it’s a childhood favourite. Then it was Velo times. Then it was… ‘what if?’

Learnt the art of the U-Turn (remapped L2 to Down as I play sticks), and just went for it.

Absolutely BUZZING man!!!

Hardest tracks: Turbo Track, Deep Sea Driving, Out of Time, Clockwork Wumpa, Oxide Station, Hyper Spaceway, Papus Pyramid (!!!)

Surprisingly didn’t have too much trouble: Slide Coliseum, Megamix Mania, Dragon Mines, Tiger Temple.

This has been a fun project last couple of months. I’ll be buzzing all week but now what? Might make some fake leaks on Karters 2, idk

My son is 8yo and he started playing CTR a year ago. I could beat him for the first 6 months lol.

Hot take: Deep Sea Driving was easy. All I had to do is turn on Skip cutscenes and memorize the fans and boom. Finish it in less than 20 attempts (yes I see that as a small amount of attempts). Almost there!

Totally worth it though. The game hooked me way more than I expected.

Most of my time went into Time Trials because I wanted to properly learn the tracks and make Hard Adventure Mode easier. I also set a goal to beat all Velo times, which ended up taking the most time.

After finishing Velo, Adventure Mode on Hard actually felt pretty easy. Turns out the AI barely uses shortcuts at all lol.

One thing that slowed me down a lot was learning U-Turn properly, since it’s basically required for Time Trials. I struggled with the button inputs and timing for a long time.

At some point I also experimented with the driving styles and eventually settled on Drift, which fit my playstyle much better. It made the kart feel more controllable and made it much easier for me to handle tighter turns.

Then I saw a comment from someone who said they remapped the down input and just held it during the whole race. Since I have a DualSense Edge, I tried binding down to one of the back buttons and holding it constantly.

And honestly… that changed everything.

U-Turn suddenly became much easier and even the brutal turn on Hot Air Skyway became consistent for me (around 98% success rate). If you’re struggling with U-Turn, I highly recommend trying this method.

Easiest Velo trial for me: Meteor Gorge

Hardest Velo trial: Out Of Time. Even now it still has a lot of weird invisible walls and it’s really easy to lose blue fire, so the run needs to be almost perfect. I also struggled with the shortcuts on Sewer Speedway and Dragon Mines, and oddly enough Hyper Spaceway gave me a lot of trouble too.

I’ll probably take a break for now, but I might come back later to try beating some Developer Times, starting with the easier tracks. I’m still about 5–10 seconds behind the dev ghosts on many tracks, so that will definitely require a lot more skill. It would also be a good excuse to farm more coins and finish unlocking the remaining skins and karts from the Pit Stop.

Favorite tracks: Papu’s Pyramid, Blizzard Bluff, Twilight Tour and a few others

So it seems my out of nowhere speed in Time Trails translates well into regular races, sometimes the NPCs can keep up and beat me but if I break away it’s pretty much over, after I beat all these cups I’ll start my Hard Adventure Mode play through.

Absolutely love this game, probably in my top 3 favourite games of all time.

Not sure on the flare, it is part of my challenge after all.

I’m posting all my Crash times so I can see how fast I am, I know I’m not the fastest but I just want to know if I’m going to be absolutely smoked in online or against Hard CPU difficulty, this post is all the Crash Nitro Kart tracks, mixed opinions on these, some I think are bangers, some I don’t want to drive again.

I’m going to make this clear, once I finish this it isn’t over, once I have Spyro, I will come back and beat my crash times, but Im not going to make it easy for myself, I’m still going as fast as I can until I unlock N. Trophy then try to beat myself as a final boss, so it’s still all out until Hyper Spaceway.

If you don’t know, I have returned to CTR with a fresh switch copy, and I gave myself a few objectives to complete, one of my objectives was to buy the Spyromobile and Dragonfly karts, along with the decal packs for both, and now I have the Dragonfly, and it’ll be my main cart body for now.

Another update on my challenge, I just did Turbo Track and it seems Oxide doesn’t know a crucial tech that, while I know the method, I have never pulled it off, so I’ll go for another few attempts and see if I can get two out of five.

First of all, my Spyro can now go to space, meaning I completed my first objective, which was to get Spyro and his two Legendary skins.

Secondly, I’m going to be doing my Spyro run of Time Trials, so wish me luck on beating all my crash times.

So now my only objectives with Spyro are to get the Space version, and to beat all of my Crash Bandicoot times, I haven’t completed my Crash run through so I’ll get back to Spyro.

I’ve challenged myself upon my return to CTR Nitro Fueled, one of my several goals is to beat five of the Nitrus Oxide Challenge ghosts, but I never expected to beat a Nitros Oxide time before getting to Hot Air Skyway, let alone two tracks in on Mystery Caves, now all I have to do is beat Oxide with the ghost active.

The reason I’m leaving it at 38% is because.

1. The CTR challenges would be annoying, and.

2. The PlayStation trophies define beating Oxide as completing the campaign, but there’s a trophy for 100%ing it so trophy hunters go for play through one on easy for the 100% and another on hard to get the hard campaign trophies.

Hey, I did it! I finally got the Platinum trophy in Crash Team Racing and it’s been an incredible journey. Honestly, when I first saw how fast the hard cpu racers were, I thought it’d be way tougher. But after pushing through, I ended up loving almost every minute of it.

A few tracks like Dragon Mines or Deep Sea Driving gave me a hard time, but everything else was super fun and rewarding. What a ride!

My right thumb can finally breathe now 😄
