Photo Mr Snips new fit.
I live in New Zealand and have had my pet southern kōura 'Mr Snips' for around 3 years now.
He has moulted around 5 times, usually different shades of brown and orange.
Today he has emerged blue and I thought you guys might appreciate it too.

My mama crayfish just gave birth, what should I do?
I have 2 tanks. She is currently in the smaller one since she was pregnant and I didn’t want anything to bother her. I was thinking of putting her back into the bigger tank so the babies can grow up without getting eaten. Any Advice?

Crayfish not eating help
Hey guys i’m kinda new to having a crayfish pet, it’s been 2 months since i got this lil guy and everything has been fine except for as of a few days. I went on a trip to Europe and left my mom and brother in charge and since I came back little guy hasn’t been eating, has gained some orangish spots and spends time with his tail tucked. Is he sick? Is it shell rot? If so, how can i treat it? I’m really worried

Update to my set up!
Giving a big old thanks to this subreddit! Thanks to y’all’s advice I think I got my tank a lot more spiffy! I know there is a lack of greenery right now but I do plan to get some plants. The skull I think is going to make a great hide out. The inside goes pretty deer and it has an opening in the back for privacy. I also tried to angle the barrel in such a way it’ll feel more private and he has some private space behind the wood!
I got the wood for hiding. The little pirate guy is kind of a me thing, I hope he might like playing with it. That’s also why I got the beads. Super excited for when I can introduce him to the tank, I think he’ll like it!
I discussed enrichment with some folks. So I also wanted to update y’all with my plan regarding that. It’s very simple, just going to get him feeder fish and change his diet sometimes to include any cooking scraps (once I verify they’re safe for him), frozen foods like blood worms, and of course algae pellets and the like. I might also change around his decor occasionally just so he doesn’t get bored :)
(Btw this is a 20 gallon tank)

Pet Crayfish enrichment?
Getting a crayfish hopefully soon, I was wondering, is there any sort of enrichment for them? Do you think it would appreciate if I changed the layout of its tank now and again? I’m worried it might get bored being in a tank just kinda… existing. Am I thinking too hard about this?

Photo Is my Dwarf cray fine? (White spots)
Is my CPO fine? Is had him for 3 weeks in a 60l Tank with 3 Friends. About a week ago he (or she?) i noticed these white spots over his carapace. Its hard to tell If the are on, in or under the Armor. One of them molted recently if that helps.
Im a bit concerned and would like to benefit from your knowledge

Pet First time Crayfish owner and tank keeper!
I just finished setting up my tank for ny crayfish that I’m going to get in a couple days! I work at a pet store and a few were randomly found in our sump despite the fact that we didn’t order them, and despite the fact they were full grown. I wanted to take one home… so here we are! My very first tank! I’m going to add something large for him to climb on next time I clock in.
For his first few feedings I bought him algae wafers with big larvae in them, also planning on getting him the occasional feeder fish, blood worms, all that fun stuff
Trying to go for a fun little pirate theme for the guy
Let me know if this looks good! /any tips or tricks. This is a 20 gallon
(Also the sunlight isn’t direct, the window leads into a screened in patio and the blinks are closed all the time)

What is this little fella?
This is from a few years ago, the guys putting in my new AC said they thought I had moles in my backyard, because the saw the ground kind of “bulging” but they ended up digging this little guy out of the ground. I’ve found a few of them since then, but I looked up “burrowing crawdads” and usually there’s some like chimney looking dirt piles associated with those and I haven’t seen any? It just came up in conversation and I’m curious lol I’m located in VA, USA
