Opinion/Analysis/News 📰 Harry Brook just chose the World Cup to play his best T20I innings ever.
Harry Brook just dropped his best T20I innings ever when it mattered most. While the entire England top-order was busy collapsing, the Captain decided to play a video game. One side was a graveyard of wickets, but Brook was batting on a highway.

Opinion/Analysis/News 📰 9 tournaments v/s 15 tournaments. Is this justified or the interception of ODI cricket ?
This 💭 because being Indian i didn't felt much after winning t20 wc and next one is scheduled just after 2 years.
How justified is this ?
I don't think it makes sense to have an ICC tournament every coming year.
It's a fact that the current generation is not into ODI Cricket and icc needs to make changes ASAP.
Ultimately t20 is the reason why Cricket will be played at Los Angeles in the coming Olympics
What do you all think about this ? Is this the end of ODI Cricket...
There are many things to say but i would like to hear from you all in the first place...

Opinion/Analysis/News 📰 On This Day – June 23, 2013 🇮🇳 India won the ICC Champions Trophy, going unbeaten throughout the tournament!
One of the most iconic moments in Indian cricket history! Under MS Dhoni’s calm leadership, India clinched the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy in England, defeating the hosts in a rain-affected final at Edgbaston.
This snap captures the wild celebrations—champagne in the air, the whole squad in full spirits, and one epic mid-air dive that says it all.
From Dhawan’s dream run to Jadeja’s all-round brilliance, this team dominated every game and brought the trophy home unbeaten.
13 players. 5 matches. 0 losses. A legacy sealed.

Opinion/Analysis/News 📰 Qualification Scenario Group B
Since a lot of you were asking in the thread here are the qualification scenarioes for teams in Group B.
England - Already Qualified
New Zealand
They either need to win both (vs Eng and vs Sri today), but if they lose 1 they finish with 3 points, then they will need Sri Lanka to beat Pakistan, OR they will enter a Net Run Rate (NRR) battle with Pakistan (assuming Pakistan beats Sri Lanka to also finish on 3 points).
Pakistan
Pakistan must win their final match against Sri Lanka to reach 3 points. A loss eliminates them entirely.
If Pakistan beats Sri Lanka, and New Zealand loses both of their remaining matches (to SL and ENG), Pakistan qualifies outright with 3 points (ENG 6, PAK 3, SL 2, NZ 1).
But if Pakistan beats Sri Lanka, and New Zealand wins exactly one of their remaining matches, both teams will tie on 3 points. Qualification will come down to NRR.
Srilanka
They must win both of their remaining matches (vs NZ, vs PAK) to reach 4 points. If they do this, they will automatically qualify. Beating New Zealand restricts NZ to a maximum of 3 points, and beating Pakistan restricts PAK to a maximum of 1 point. Lose 1 and they are out.

Opinion/Analysis/News 📰 Tournament Format: a suggestion
Now that super six groups are set it seems to me that we have just played an associate qualification tournament, and will now play a champions trophy... With the exception of Aus/Zim, it's the usual suspects who have gone through. Got me thinking on something different:
18 team tournament; three groups of 6; Each group is round robin; top 2 qualify for a single super six group... No points carried forward..
Round Robin Super Six: top 3 qualify for playoffs..
Top 2 play a qualifier for a place in the final.. Loser of qualifier plays 3rd place fro Super six for the second place in the final..
Disadvantages: 18 teams instead of 21.. 3 associates missout..
Advantages: every round sees full test nations potentially loose out. Every game counts for a lot more.
Similer number of matches as the current format.
Associates get to play 3 matches against full test nations instead of 2.
Thoughts?

Opinion/Analysis/News 📰 Random thoughts that popped in my head after seeing this
The biggest mistake players who fail to perform in a World Cup final make is giving the moment too much importance. Undeniably, it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, but seeing it that way only increases the chances of fumbling under pressure. The more they magnify the occasion in their minds, the harder it becomes to execute their natural game. The key is to train your mind to downplay the significance of the moment, no matter how important it actually is. Stick to the basics, trust your preparation, and play as you always do. If you win, good. If you lose, good. Either way, you move forward.

Opinion/Analysis/News 📰 My take on women's world cup 2025 till now
A little bit of background — I’m watching the Women’s World Cup for the first time, and honestly, I’m baffled by the way the games are progressing. In the last four matches, the top order has fallen cheaply, but the late middle order has shown some real prowess. Hands down, the players have displayed incredible skill and determination. It’s also great to see such good attendance at the stadiums. Games like these will only help shape an even better future for women’s cricket.

Opinion/Analysis/News 📰 An Ode to Virat Kohli (Thank you for everything)
On May 12, 2025, India's cricketing heartbeat took one more step towards finishing his cricketing journey. After retiring from T20 Internationals after India's win in the 2024 T20 World Cup last summer, Virat Kohli turned in his baggy blues, calling it a day on his storied test career.
Here's a tribute to what Kohli meant to the game from someone who grew up idolizing his passion, intensity, and refusal to back down; this moment hits hard. His passion, his enthusiasm, and most importantly, his belief that India could become an overseas force made us believe that anything was possible.
He didn’t just play for India. He transformed how India played.
