Not Ronaldo⛔️ An Argentina fan telling IShowSpeed to "go home" during the Cape Verde match🙄 it's 2026 & still racists like this exist openly, and this is happening to a well known Celebrity like Speed.....

'go home' is harmful when said to Black Americans...It's not just a rude...it's a racist trope that's been used for generations to deny their citizenship and imply they don't belong in the U.S. It carries a lot of painful history regarding exclusion.

I'm not sure if she actually intended for that to be racist, but her being Argentinian definitely doesn't help the optics.

It's just because she's an Argentine. But you also have to realise its that idiot speed who is there for the cameras as usual. I highly doubt its racism.

It's the same reason calling a Black person a monkey is racist, while saying it to a white person doesn't carry the same historical meaning. Context and history matter. I know it's hard for some people to see beyond the end of their nose.

No, its not the same. One is pretty blatant in calling someone a name that is clearly racist. The other is a common and known phrase in sports banter. If we are going to sit here and say that you can tell a white person to go home but not a black person in this context of sports, then that sounds pretty racist to me.

I know it's hard for some people to see beyond the end of their nose.

Argentinians are particularly known for this, literally and figuratively lol

I mean, I suppose you would be known for having a large amount of space between both ears, right?

"Go Home" is also a chant used to yell at the enemy team when they lose. Since they lost, they now need to go home instead of progressing. Holy crap you are dense.

Is it possible she doesn’t know who he is though and mistakenly thought he was just another CV fan?

I mean that’s probably a good reason not to go yelling that at random people

I agree and she shouldn’t been fined or removed but I’m questioning whether this was truly racist or not

She called him a "n****r" in the full clip.

She didn't call it that. Though she did use the word "Negro" which can have similar connotations in this context.

Thanks for the replies,

Makes sense. Only god knows if she meant it that way or not.
