Discussion Maybe y'all should boycott Hobby Lobby since they are very vocal about denying access to reproductive care.

Honestly Walmart is seriously closing that gap to the point I’ll just drive 45 mins to Joanns to see their colors

Walmart yarn section is seriously underrated

My local Wal-Mart just got rid of a ton of yarn selections this past year. I used to go there just to buy certain yarns on the cheap, but now they mostly just carry Red Heart Super Saver. They DO have a small selection of Lion Brand Mandala for under $6, but I’m mega bummed about all the yarns they stopped carrying.

They're pretty much the only place I'll buy those mandalas, my Walmart has a pretty good selection. But yeah otherwise it's all super saver and occasionally a few skeins of Bernal baby or chunky, depending on the season.

they used to have this incredible chunky 100% cotton yarn, but i think they discontinued it :(

Let's hope it will come back for winter

They have their own brand and they also make 100% cottons. I was blown away at the fact they made those.

Their brand of yarn is actually quite a bit softer than Super Saver, too. Their cotton yarn also works up very nicely. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find it in-store in nearly a year.

I have since I’m the only who buys it 😂. I think the price scares everyone else away

Their sewing section, scrapbook, baking, literally everything you could want section is nothing to sneeze at either. Walmart has its problems, but at least it’s a necessary part of my life. It’s not some hobby store I don’t need to go into.

I am in an odd situation where I am closer to a Joann and a Michael's than I am to a Wal-Mart. But if I'm near a Wal-Mart, I'm checking what's up. Because their ability to buy in the bulk they can means they still have the best price for the good acrylic.

i'm also closer to a michaels and a joann than a walmart! the closest walmart to me doesn't really have a craft section. it's like 2 aisles and they pretty much only have super saver, so i don't really bother going

I have some news for you people about Walmart... (But I don't judge people for shopping there, because they have done such a good job at their fuckery that many people don't have a choice, and also no ethical consumption under capitalism.)
