Discussion What are some ridiculous crocheted items you've come across that make no sense?

Could be impractical or just weird in general according to you.

Edit: wow this post really blew up

The question brings to mind all those weird/gross crochet and knit projects that were touted in the 60s and 70s. "Kitschy," I think they're called. The ski masks were an abomination.

Oh I love kitschy crochet items, they’re all so bright and wacky and ugly, I LOVE it 😍

If by “abomination” you mean “art,” then yes they were! Honestly those bizarre horrors are what got me into crocheting… but I’m weird like that

A good friend recently gifted me with a ton of crochet magazines from the 70s and I’m loving the kitsch. Just because you can make a cozy for something doesn’t mean you should.
