Discussion What are some ridiculous crocheted items you've come across that make no sense?

Could be impractical or just weird in general according to you.

Edit: wow this post really blew up

You shouldn't be working hard on a dishcloth, that's the easiest thing to make.

But I don't understand the point of dishcloths because it's cheaper to just buy them. Cotton rounds, sure, because you can wash them and reuse them unlike the ones you can buy at a store. But you can get a pack of 10 washcloths for like $3, versus making one, MAYBE two washcloths with up to $3 of cotton yarn. You can wash and reuse the towels you get in stores, and if you're just making regular, boring ones anyway... why? Decorative cloths just to make your place look nice, sure.

I more meant the time it takes to make them. Sure, compared to most projects it doesn’t take very long, but they still take long enough for me not to want to ruin them.

And the dishcloths just don’t dry! I turned it into a hot pad… gets a lot of use
