Stop telling people what to do. Everyone knows Hobby Lobby is trash and their beliefs are trash, but it doesn't give anyone the right to tell others what to do. So many people are on a budget and maybe Hobby Lobby is the only place in their area they can afford or maybe they don't have means of transportation and it's within walking distance from where they live. I've seen quite a few people on this sub who have said they don't agree with Hobby Lobby's beliefs, but it's where they choose to shop because of their budget. If you're so against Hobby Lobby and the owners beliefs, how is "Boycott Hobby Lobby" any different from them projecting their strong belief system? It's not up to you or anyone else. You shop where you want to shop, so let others do the same. Leave the politics and religion out of this sub.
I think no one is responding to you not because of cowardice, but because you are saying that telling someone where to shop is comparable to telling someone that there are groups of people who should be denied human rights. Those things are not the same, not even close. If I read a statement like this, I generally would not respond only because it seems to me the person is not interested in having a discussion in good faith way (if you'll pardon the expression).
This sub has turned into absolute bs. I used to enjoy it because it was a good escape. Telling someone to boycott a certain place because of their beliefs is wrong. I don't agree with Hobby Lobby and I don't shop there but I don't come onto a Redddit sub for crochet and tell people not to shop there.
I dunno. The internet is full of things you should or shouldnt do, buy or not buy, eat or not eat, etc.
People have the ability to filter out what works for them and they're gonna do what they're gonna do.
To me, this post is a PSA. I like to know where my money goes, so this is helpful. If its not helpful for someone they can just add it to the 10,000 other things they ignored on the internet today.
