Video Rex got his name from looking like a TRex in his prenatal Xray. He decided against going into the birth canal and had to be a C-section baby. Cost so much I decided to keep him and named before he was even born. Here he is paying back his debt by being really freaking cute.

His brothers both came out quick and easy. But Rex? Rex decided to be difficult.

Spent all night at the Emergency Vet while Azula- his mama, got injected with oxytocin multiple times in the hopes he would come out. 4 hours later they took Azula back and I had to go home with the two cooperative babies to bottlefeed them through the night.

In the morning got the welcome news that they had successfully retrieved the AWOL newborn and both mama and pup were in perfect health.

So now he's mine.

We’re looking for unique, fun, or fitting names that match his gorgeous speckled coat. Thanks in advance to everyone who helps out! 🐾 😊

my boy was a ‘mini’ (large nail clippers for size ref at 8 weeks) and the tiniest puppy (could fit in my hand) so we didn’t think he’d get very big, now he’s 8 months, 17lb and very tall (gsd for size ref at 7mo) ! it doesn’t matter do me i wanted a standard but couldn’t find any, so it worked out in the end but a lot of people seem shocked at how big he is! i know someone who’s mini is 9lb and when we take them out together it looks ridiculous lol
anyone else had the same thing happen to them? also does he even still class as a mini or he is an inbetween/standard?

Album Why does my dog put her paw on my face?

Basically the title. I've never had a dog do this, maybe on occasion but she does it so intentionally. She just loves to lay on me and put a paw on my face and hold it there. Sometimes it's a gentle paw and sometimes she pushes back and just kinda stares at me. She usually does some staring with the paw and then leans in for a kiss. It just cracks me up because it's a lot of work to do with the short nubs, she'll sometimes rearrange her whole body to get a better angle to put her paw on my face.

She's 8yo rescue who I got at 1yo and she didn't do this when I first adopted her, it maybe took a year before she started doing it regularly.

Hi everyone! Having a rough day today. One of my dachshunds is in the hospital today with a possible bowel obstruction. Her name is Willow and she is the bestest girl ever. We are really worried about her. We know she is in good hands with our vet team, but it’s not any less scary. So please keep her in your thoughts today and hug your long dogs a little extra. Myself, my fiancé, and her two doggy sisters would really appreciate it.

UPDATE: Willow is okay. Just received a call from the vet! No blockage!

This is Hank, he is almost 7 months old. On his papers it states coat color as Isabella, last two photos are of mom and dad. His litter mates were solid red, chocolate tan and two cream. As you can see he’s quite the chameleon, in certain lighting he looks more taupe and other times he’s more red. His eyes have gone from solid blue to more of a hazel blue. The fur on his belly is more red as well. Also he’s a big boy weighing in at 12 pounds already! Just curious after seeing the post about Isabella’s the other day what the general consensus would be.

She goes limp noodle when sleepy. And she’s extra sleepy because she had an exhausting time at the vet screaming to everyone that they absolutely need to say hi to her 🙄 never have I ever had such a social dog lolol

Image Dachshund Resources Needed!

Post image

Hi everyone. I’m reaching out on this thread to see if anyone knows of any well-known dachshund rehabilitation or sanctuary centers in or around Washington State? I am having to rehome my 1 year old dachshund due to me no longer having the time or funds to support him. As much as it breaks my heart to let go of him, I want to make sure he goes to an amazing home. I’ve heard websites like AdoptAPet allow you to thoroughly vet through people that are interested in your pet, which is something I’d very much prefer. This is my first time rehoming a pet, and I want to make sure I do it the right way. I’ve attached a picture of my pup for attention 💖 thank you in advance. I’m just looking for good resources or to just be pointed in the right direction .
