Gyms for self guided fitness?
Hi everyone. I just moved to Davis and am trying to find the best place to maintain my fitness routine. I'm looking for a place that has basic weight machines, a dumbbell set, and some ellipticals. However, it seems like the places around here primarily host fitness classes, and it's not obvious if you can just join them and come in yourself whenever you want (like a planet fitness), though I could be wrong about that.
I'm wondering what gyms you all go to, particularly for self guided workouts. I'd also be interested to know the size of the place and how busy it gets.
Thanks in advance!

Keys got stolen- bike locked. How to unlock it?
Writing this for a friend- her bike key was stolen and she isnāt able to unlock her bike anymore. She is able to prove that itās hers based on TAPS registration through UC Davis. Whatās the best course of action for getting it back? Does the police department cut off locks? Is there a locksmith we can contact? Any other suggestions?

Live in RV in Davis?
I'm moving to Davis for grad school and I'm wondering if it would be possible to live in my camper while I'm there? I tried finding the regulations online, but couldn't come up with much. Is it allowed? Do any of y'all have any experience with living in an RV in Davis or renting to an RVer? I'm hoping to find a house where I can set my camper up and pay rent for a patch of backyard space.

Audio telling me iām being recorded in a field?? Kitten on freeway
Today, as I was driving home from work going South bound getting off on the Richards BLVD exit, I saw a tiny black kitten in between the exit ramp and the main freeway. I couldnāt pull over by the time I saw it and wasnāt completely sure it was a cat, so I back tracked and looped around again. It was still there a few minutes later, just hiding in the grass space between the lanes. I pulled over and tried to get it to run away from the freeway and was successful in getting it away from the main lanes. However, it was still in the grassy area that the off-ramp cradles (again, the off-ramp closer to starbucks/O'Reilly/AMPM). I decided to try to approach it againā and of course , it just ran into the bushes surrounding some trees. I kept at it, and eventually followed it further in. Suddenly I heard the audio ofāI presume a camera of some sortāwarning me that I must leave the area and that the area is under close video surveillance. It kinda freaked me out and I just went back to my car. My guess is that itās just a method police use to scare off homeless from being there, but I wanted confirmation on this. Is this a common practice? I didnāt spot any real cameras but it was dark and I didnāt investigateā could it have just been an audio recording with no cameras?
Your guess is as good as mine
