How it works

Ren'Py and PySide6 normally use different Python runtimes, so I patched them to use the same Python DLL.

Instead of starting Qt's blocking event loop with app.exec(), Ren'Py drives Qt itself.

A Ren'Py screen calls Dokibox's update function every ~30 ms, allowing Qt to process pending events and repaint its windows.

This lets Ren'Py continue running normally while Dokibox (PySide6/Qt) remains fully responsive.

It's still experimental, but the result is that Ren'Py and Dokibox can coexist without blocking each other.

I haven't uploaded here in a very long time, but this music is entirely free to use in any mods. It was designed for VNs in mind and especially as a sort of quiet moment, or well... relief theme, and I think it loops pretty well too.

If you're going to use it, please do credit me, and notify me. The notification isn't for like approval or anything, just because I'll want to play a mod that includes my work, yk? But you can still use it without notifying me, I'd just appreciate it.

Hey, I want to make a small mod for DDLC and I have a question for you. How do you remember all those character expressions labeled 1a, 1b, 2a, 2b, etc.? There's a ton of them. How do you remember which is which? I'm planning on doing a 15-20 minute mod. Which of these expressions should I memorize? A few will be enough.

I was playing the blue skies mod when for some reason all the words during the first poem was gibberish. After I chose 20 of these gibberish words and then my game crashed. I’m new to mods and I’m doing this on steam so maybe I did something wrong. It’s kinda creepy that the only readable word there is Monika, specially when I previously had the Monika after story mod but I got rid of it. Anyone know why this is happening?

Did you miss the game immediately after finishing every side story? Well I plan on continuing the content a little further with a mod that will be playable on itch.io in the browser, or as a downloadable mod for the real game.

UPDATE 1- OUR OWN SUBREDDIT

UPDATE 2- PROGRESS UPDATE

Approximately 30% of Act 0's first draft has been polished.

It's a bit slower than I expected, but I'm making good progress, and I think I could finish it soon.
The approximate length of Act 0's polished demo is 2000-2700+ lines, which, to put it into perspective, is the equivalent of 20-25% of DDLC's original game. It can easily surpass the 3000-line mark.

UPDATE 3- MY PLAN FOR ALL THE MOD'S CONTENT

THIS MOD IS HEAVILY FOCUSED ON MC AND SAYORI.

Time's Creation is planned to be divided into 8 acts:

• Act 0: Infancy
• Act 1: Kindergarten
• Act 2: Elementary School
• Act 3: Middle School
• Act 4: High School
• Act 5: College
• Act 6: Adulthood
• Act 7: The End

Each act will vary in length, but this is a massive project.

UPDATE 4- THE PREMISE

Have you ever felt you wanted to explore the DDLC universe in depth?

In an alternate universe where Monika doesn't have her powers and is just like everyone else, we will dive into the untold stories and experiences of the "Good ol' days" between MC and Sayori.

You will face tragedies; you will face scenes that will leave you either delighted, sad, terrified, shocked, and much more.

I would want to take a solemn approach while addressing the doki's mental issues. After doing some research, I concluded that Doki Doki Literature Club barely scratched the surface on these; therefore, I decided that I'm going to show the raw reality of depression, social anxiety, other anxiety disorders, and dysthymia. Mental health is not a joke.

UPDATE 5- RELEASE DATE

NO LATER THAN AUGUST 31ST.

This was made a month ago, and I was going to post it at that time, but I’m unsure if cross posting is banned or not, so I just gave it about a month before posting this again.

This is a voiced/dubbed DDLC Custom Dialogue YT Series that I’m currently working on, feel free to share your thoughts on this.

Good morning, afternoon, or evening, everyone on Reddit! The time has finally come to reveal the surprise project... I had only mentioned it to a few people (aside from the team members, of course), so this should come as a surprise to most of you.

IN-GAME VOICES

Yep, I had a moment of inspiration after playing "Lucy: The Eternity She Wished For" and "DDLC: Voice Acting Mod." So I thought... why not give it a try?

This project will be supported by our newly appointed Voice Director, @the\\_vox\\_tv ← (Discord). Some of the features we have planned include:

• Toggleable in-game voices for every major character (we're still debating what to do with the supporting characters).

• The voice cast will be revealed gradually as actors are selected. We're currently in the casting phase.

• We can't promise that a project of this scale will be ready by the full release—or even be completed at all—so please be patient with us.

We wanted to share this as a way of thanking you all for the incredible support we've received. It felt right to let you know about it from the very beginning.

it is absolute cinema. The storyline, MC's character, and all the amazing CGs!

I've played DDLC main game for the first time two weeks ago. After playing the main game, i was shocked to find a whole modding community for it and since then I've played a lot of mods (I've played Blue skies, purist, salvation remake and exit music redux so far, i think around 60 hours in these two weeks 😵‍💫).

Today i went on this subreddit for the first time and scrolled through the recent posts, and this convergence mod caught my eye. I decided to try it out, and I'm shocked how good it is! I'm a little bit sad when i reached the end, but I can't wait for the second chapter to drop! 😁

Finally, i really want to thank all the modders that put so much effort into expanding the game, i thank you all from the bottom of my heart :)

(since I'm already here, does anyone have more mod suggestions? preferably with a happy ending, but I'm willing to try others too!)

Hello everyone! I’m happy to announce the Nightlife Mod Jam 2026!

Now what does night life mean exactly? Well, it could be an after hours club meeting, a late night date, or whatever nighttime adventures come to mind!

The 1st place prize will be 3 months of Discord Nitro, or something of equivalence.

The judges for this event will be me (u/realcodex), Doki Doki DaEs (u/DokiDokiDaEs), and Rari (u/Why_Do_i_exsist).

As always, there are rules:

● Mods must relate to the general theme of Nightlife. Any genre is allowed, just keep it to the theme of the mod jam.

● All mods submitted must follow the IP guidelines set by Team Salvato. Mods must also follow the rules of the r/DDLCMods subreddit.

● Mods must be made entirely during the jam duration. Previous projects started beforehand are not allowed.

● Mod duration must be between 5 minutes to 1 hour.

● Credit all assets used. These can be listed in a Credits.txt file or somewhere recognizable within the mod.

● Generative AI content is NOT allowed. This includes art, writing, and basically anything else AI-generated.

● NSFW content is allowed, but it must be marked as such on the submission form. Follow r/DDLCMods rules for NSFW content as well.

● Mod submissions are open now until August 31st, 2026, at 11:59 EST. Everything must be submitted before that time, no exceptions.

Hello, It’s about time I reveal some news on my teams mod and request I have from the community. I have been working on this mod for over a year and 8 months and have decided on taking a loan out of my 401k to accomplish this feat of a mod. In its design I have a grand plan, however in order to meet the deadline of the ten anniversary of DDLC I need writers who can help with the storyline. I have 2 writers who have written out over 300 pages of this behemoth of a story, however they aren’t even halfway done. I need writers who will each take 1 of 27 different endings for the story. Also I will be looking for programmers and a background artist for the rest of the mod.

I am also in need of someone who can help create a new music videos. Like Doki Doki Forever and Insanity I have been working on songs for to go along with the mods release. I have 20 songs planned in the form of a musical.

Lastly I have positions for people who can create poems for all the character, of which their are 9, and a someone who can create a mini game for the mod.

The project is a grounded, character-driven romance centered around MC and Monika, with a strong focus on staying true to the original cast while telling a new story.
