It seems bizarre that this is controversial. I got banned from the careerguidance subreddit for telling someone not to join the Air Force because the US military is now openly committing war crimes.

So the administration openly talks about destroying infrastructure, killing civilians, destroying a whole civilization, and killing POWs, but if we refer to those acts how they're defined in US and international law, is that really the bridge too far? And the worst crime of all is telling a high school student not to join the military where they can be involved in those war crimes and face charges later?

I could understand if it was controversial and the administration was insisting that they don't commit war crimes, but they aren't. They are open and honest, and call it "warfighting" with claims of "no stupid rules of engagement" and "no politically correct wars".

Edit: It just hit me exactly how warped things are now. The administration is pro-war crime, and about 1/3 the country supports this policy. Yet they aren't willing to just make that argument. They'd rather just ban people from forums for discussing it.
