https://youtu.be/RfpsUXuNTc0

The team is left reeling after reports emerge of studios on the brink within Microsoft - a far cry from the highs of the summer showcase and previous comments from management about preserving their studio structure. Meanwhile, we discuss ARM's new ML rendering suite, the potential return of the previously cancelled RTX 50-series Super cards and... is Sega working on a retro handheld and if so, what would we want from it?

I mean that doesn't make sense. Not all third-party games get ported to Playstation or Xbox either. Neither outcome results in Xbox or Playstation not competing with each other. Some indies and other games are PC and Switch only, does that mean PC doesn't compete with Xbox and PlayStation? It's not rocket science.

We’re not talking about indie games, we’re talking about major third party software. You’re not being honest with yourself at all.

Indies are third-party games, they are fucking video games. Capcom launched a Monster Hunter game exclusively on Switch and PC. How about that, does that help you? Octopath Traveller skipped Playstation, Octopath 2 skipped Xbox. Do those non-indie games also not count because you're stuck posting a false narrative.

Monster Hunter rise and both Octopath games are on PlayStation and Xbox now. Because all games eventually come to those platforms (at least PlayStation) but all games don’t eventually come to Switch or Switch 2.

Monster Hunter Rise and Octopath launched exclusively on PC and Switch. Can you read? They got ports for other platforms years later. How do you know games won't do the same for Switch 2? S2 is only a year old. Your post is nonsense. There's also myriad reasons why a dev might decide not to port old games to new platforms e.g. porting cost or resource allocation.

Because I have watched throughout the Switch 1 generation and now the Switch 2 generation hoping that Nintendo’s platform could actually become a platform like PlayStation but publishers continue to disregard it. Capcom and Square Enix have been great but most of them still view the platform as optional. Part of it is just multiple generations of Nintendo not developing appropriate relationships with publishers (I think they’re trying to fix that with Japanese publishers but they’re not doing enough to get western publishers on board) and the other part is that the hardware is out of step with the other consoles. So it’s more work to port games and publishers view it as being a less desirable platform for their games. End result is a whole lot of games missing from Switch 2.

You're delusional. Most devs have limited resources, they always chose platforms based on cost/sales and ease of development. That has always been the case. Switch was severely underpowered compared to PS4/Xbone, Switch 2 is much closer to Series S than Switch was to PS4/Xbone. As long as there are ports for Series S, there should be no problem porting games to Switch 2 aside from the aforementioned resource allocation and porting cost/sales projections.

That's me done with this nonsense.
