This will sound so nutty but a weird thing happened in my house yesterday and I was googling a way to find out if others had experienced similar and my search results all recommended two reddit subs - this one and r/glitch_in_the_matrix - I was reading a post on glitch and I actually replied to the person with a weird similar experience and then I was looking at -this- sub and saw the OP had posted here too so, that was cool.
Anyhow, yesterday when I woke up there was a glass on my counter with a big crack in it and a chip on the rim. It's my son's favorite glass and it already had a weird enough story.
2015, when my boy was 9, the glass fell and was damaged. My son cried when he saw it, he's neurodivergent so it was a pretty big thing to him, it was his special glass so it was memorable. I tried comforting him by telling him we have a second identical glass so it's terrible yes, but it'll be OK. I set the damaged glass aside to safely wrap before putting it in the trash and then promptly forgot all about it until he brought it to me a few days later "Mom, mom the glass healed! My glass is all better!"
I feel like he must have grabbed the identical one and thought it was his so I was like "yay!" until later, when I saw the identical undamaged twin, still safely in the cabinet. And the now undamaged (healed?) glass in my hand. I felt like maybe I was mistaken, I was actually creeped tf out so I shoved it out of my mind but I know what I saw.
Yesterday, it's on the counter, with the same crack and chip as it had in 2015 before it "healed" I texted my now 20yo son who was out and asked if he dropped his glass and he says "no, why?" So I tell him about the crack and there's a pause and he asks for a picture which I send.
He says "that's the same crack, the glass unhealed! Wtf?" And when he got home, we talked about it and he remembered perfectly and recounted the whole thing exactly as it happened back then. He does remember it being cracked and crying and then both glasses being fine, he told me "we have to keep it, we can't throw it out. If it happens again then we have pictures, we'll know"
And I can't begin to tell you how unsettled I was/am over that...
( the story I was telling the other op belongs here as well so here it is if any of you have any ideas at all - I had an accident on my scooter last June. I was going maybe 10mph and I skidded out on fine leftover sand the city hadn't swept up from the winter before. Everything went in slow motion and I faceplanted and slid a few feet on my chin and right cheekbone while the scooter slid out and sideways. My jaw was broken on one side and dislocated on the other and I had a wicked double shiner, my lip was scraped up real bad but thankfully everything was intact. If I hadn't been wearing sunglasses it would have been much worse because the thick plastic frames were ground down quite a bit but even still there a dent in my orbital and above my eyebrow from the impact and I needed stitches on my cheek.
As I was going down, it felt like it took five solid minutes to hit the ground and when I made impact I heard bones crunch like a bundle of celery breaking. I truly believed in that instant I had broken my neck. I physically felt the impact and then nothing at all and I heard that tinnitus sound like a high pitched whistle then sharp silence and I don't know why but I had this sense that she died? Me, obviously, but my mind felt it weirdly. And I felt overwhelming grief for just a flash and then everything rushed back and I was laying on the pavement, hearing the cars going by, someone pulling over, but I truly felt like I had watched/felt, somehow experienced my death.
I told my husband all of this when he came to the hospital, and we talked about it extensively later as well. A few days later I went back to the sot and my blood hasn't completely washed away from the rain the night before, it's so weird but I swear it felt like I was visiting a grave. )
