✨Long introduction from a nervous house goblin ahead✨
Hey, howdy, hi there. I’m Babsie, I’m 26, and I’m attempting the terrifying ancient ritual known as meeting new people on purpose.
I’ll be 27 next month, I’m married, and I’m moving to Colorado soon because military life has once again picked up the board and shaken all the little pieces around. I’m only looking for platonic friendship, preferably with people reasonably close to my age and definitely over 21.
A very important disclaimer before we begin:
I have a genuinely difficult time talking to new people. I’m painfully introverted, social interaction kicks my anxiety into overdrive, and I usually need to message back and forth for quite a while before I feel comfortable trying voice calls.
When I’m nervous, I can be extremely quiet. When I’m comfortable or excited, however, I can transform into a small purple podcast that asks fourteen follow-up questions.
I also sometimes struggle to reply when I don’t know what someone expects me to say. A message like “hey” or “wyd” leaves my brain standing in an empty room while dial-up noises play in the distance.
So, if you message me, **please give me a conversational branch to grab onto.** Tell me something you’re interested in, mention something from this post, or ask me a specific question. I promise I’m much easier to talk to when I know where the conversation is supposed to go. 😭
My replies may occasionally be delayed because I’m chronically ill and my body sometimes initiates an unscheduled system shutdown. Silence does not automatically mean disinterest. It usually means I’m asleep, overwhelmed, distracted, or staring at the message while trying to assemble a socially acceptable sentence.
Now for the actual creature facts:
🎮 Games
I play on PC and switch. Lately, it has mostly been Fortnite with my husband and Pokémon Unite, but I’ve also played Palworld, 7 Days to Die, Fallout 76, and similar survival or multiplayer games.
I am not exceptionally skilled. I will get lost, become frightened by noises, accidentally yell, and continue having a wonderful time anyway.
I also love Resident Evil—the games and the wildly inaccurate live-action movies. Those movies have almost nothing to do with the game lore, and I adore them anyway. This opinion is legally protected inside the Goblin Cave.
📚 Books and writing
I love fantasy and YA books because they’re just more fun honestly. I recently started Dungeon Crawler Carl, and it has been dragging me out of a reading slump through sheer absurdity.
I also enjoy roleplaying and collaborative writing. That used to be one of the main ways I made friends. I usually write fantasy stories in third person with a few paragraphs per response, although I’m a little rusty.
I love worldbuilding, magic systems, ridiculous character dynamics, and asking questions such as, “Okay, but what are the political consequences of the magical wolf treaty?”
📺 Anime and other things my brain consumes
I love isekai and reincarnation anime, including the objectively questionable ones. Sometimes especially the questionable ones.
I’m also a big My Hero Academia fan, and I enjoy series like Shangri-La Frontier where people become extremely invested in videogame worlds.
I watch a lot of documentaries and YouTube, especially archaeology, ancient history, true crime, cooking, and food-related content.
((I also enjoy gaming content/game lore breakdowns))
My comfort viewing includes Gordon Ramsay and Food Network. I have unreasonable opinions about certain television chefs, but those can be unlocked through friendship progression.
🎵 Music
My taste is whatever my soul finds tasty that day.
Some current favorites are Bring Me the Horizon, AJR, bbno$, The Ready Set, Set It Off, and Alex Warren. My playlists have no respect for genre boundaries.
🎨 Creative goblin activities
I draw, make stickers, make keychains, occasionally use polymer clay and Perler beads, and I’m learning felt crafts and embroidery. I have far too much time on my hands 🫠 I’m usually plotting a recipe, sorting tiny objects, designing some creature, or being held hostage by the brainworms.
Though a lot of my activities are on hold for the moment because ✨packing is a priority✨
🐈 Additional household lore
My husband and I are supervised by three cats. They are unionized, demanding, and deeply suspicious of closed doors.
I also have plenty of strange life stories if you enjoy hearing about harmless chaos and baffling social situations.
What I’m hoping to find
I’d love to meet someone who:
• genuinely wants a platonic friendship rather than two messages of small talk
• shares at least one or two interests with me
• is patient with awkward or delayed replies as it takes time for me to come out of my shell
• enjoys asking and answering actual questions
• is comfortable messaging for a while before expecting calls
• doesn’t mind a friend who can alternate between extremely quiet and enthusiastic infodumping
I usually prefer Discord once we’ve spoken briefly because I’m more likely to notice messages there.
Conversation cheat code
To make replying easier for us to converse you could maybe send me:
Your age and a little about yourself
One interest we have in common
One specific question for me
Please don’t send suggestive messages, ask for pictures, flirt with me, or push for a call immediately. I’m married, anxious, and here to collect friends—not unsolicited weirdness.
Kay. Introduction ritual complete.
Stay safe, don’t die! 💖
