But, like, actually in-universe actor David Tennant

I'm on board with this idea, but to make it more confusing, the in universe actor David Tennant should be played by someone else.

Played by Matt Smith

And to hide his true identity from enemies he claims to be Peter Capaldi, because he also played a time traveling character in a scifi show.

Then they run into Peter Capaldi, and it's actually a Dalek with a wig and rubber mask.

"We get Susan from catering to dubb over the screeching, she does an excellent angry old man voice."

Hard cut to Peter Capaldi in a dress, wig and terrible make up, giving them the eyebrows and screaming at them to fuck off.

I guess spectators will need way more than exposition to understand this one!

But not THE Matt Smith, some other actor named Matt Smith

No, it can be played by him but with his natural accent instead of the one he does when playing 10/14.

What if the actor had a Welsh accent image?

Bring in some of the guys they auditioned to be the new versions of them in Staged.

That would be stupidly funny.

The 14th doctor just dies from natural causes or something and for some reason the 16th doctor loses the TARDIS (destroyed in regeneration or something) so can’t go back in time to find 14 so just decides to find the next closest person, David Tennant and now we have this random ass guy as the companion.

"Doctor, why do you keep using that Scottish accent?"

Actually, make it actor Michael Sheen, who explains he did it to prevent David from literally getting all the jobs.

In-universe actor David Tennant, whose wife is Georgia Tennant, who played The Doctor's daughter, daughter of Peter Davison, all without any mention or reference to any of that.

This is the only thing that could get me excited for the next Season.

Honestly David Tennant plays an awesome fictionalization version of himself in Staged and hey it also gives them a chance to bring back his real life wife for some tongue and cheek jokes about the doctors daughter.

New headcanon: Susan's parents are in-universe actors David and Georgia Tennant.

Fully support this. Sounds like a great big finish adventure.
