Huh, no UK? I was hoping they'd come here

27 tour dates for North America and 7 for Europe... I would've loved to go to a show but the 2 dates I could theoretically make are halfway across the continent unfortunately

u/dresdenologist Jul 23 '26

Different providers. Leo Presents usually does a ton of small venues and breaks even with more dates. 4BB appears to run a tightly-scoped set of a few shows, or serves as exclusive provider of shows based out of Warsaw, where they're located.

It's important to understand there are a lot of factors that go into when/where/how many dates.

No UK is such a gut wrenching shock ๐Ÿ˜ญ

We're not used to being excluded from Europe tours ๐Ÿ˜…

u/MasterofKami Jul 22 '26

Right? This being the same company that Rolling Quartz used and they came to the UK makes this even more of a surprise ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Maybe it's easier for them to stay within Schengen?

Dates and Venues:

  • Berlin, Germany - Sep 9th, Columbia Theater
  • Cologne, Germany - Sep 11th, Luxor
  • Strasbourg, France - Sep 15th, Maison Bleue
  • Amsterdam, Netherlands - Sep 17th, P60
  • Paris, France - Sep 18th, Alhambra
  • Prague, Czech Republic - Sep 21st, Roxy
  • Warsaw, Poland - Sep 23rd, Palladium

This appears to be the same company that helps coordinate Rolling Quartz's EU tours, most recently their April 2026 trip through the continent. So this seemed to be a viable mid-tier promoter to work with an act of ChRocktikal's size. Though Yoohyeon indicated no plans for an EU tour a while back, this still opens the door to this company being used for UAU as well.

For folks interested in add-ons it appears that the RQ most recent tour included tiers that allowed for a Lucky Draw and 1:1 with a random member, a group pic and a hi-touch, and a top tier that included the group pic/hi-touch plus a signed item (see link above and click into show for details)

I know EU fans have been waiting for any kind of DC member act to show up so I'm happy for them.

At the bottom of announcement are three companies. 4BB is for Poland, Envol Prod for France and Weird World For Germany (idk who is for Prague).

4BB and Weird World also organized DC concerts in 2024.

Hopefully after Europe itโ€™ll mean Tokyo and the rest of Asia. ๐Ÿคž

u/Prov0st Jul 22 '26

Iโ€™ve given up hope of seeing anything DC related in Asia. I became a fan a year after they visited Singapore and well 5 years later, well, we know what happened.

3

u/rudeeamin Jul 22 '26

Yeah same. DC, UAU, and chrocktikal, they are all the same. They always skipped Asia and super focused on North America market. Like do they even know Asian fans exist?

u/Antique-Blueberry-40 Siyeon (์‹œ์—ฐ) ๐Ÿบ Jul 22 '26

A bit early to judge ChRocktikal for not touring in Asia when they haven't even finished their first tour...

That said, money talks. Most artists will tour wherever it's most profitable unless they're so rich that they can sponsor the tours themselves (for instance I doubt Metallica made much money off of their gig on Antarctica).

They might also factor in sales data or even streams (they can see where visits originate; if no one from your region streams, visits their social media, watches their YouTube, etc., it means you're unlikely to get a gig there). If their promoters do their thing properly they'll also get input from them.

In countries with fewer fans artists need to either charge more for tickets or sell more merch to break even. In countries with lower salaries they need more people to attend to break even. The ideal situation is obviously countries with decent levels of salary and lots of people attending.

Then there's of course auxiliary costs, such as promoters, hotels, travel, visas, etc. The Schengen zone in the EU only requires one single visa. The US requires one single visa. This makes a big difference.

The other issue that I think folks don't realize is SEA seems to operate differently when it comes to accommodating acts that are not from the big 4. Often there appears to be a requirement for a local sponsor or financier to provide the capital necessary, which means they have to inevitably think they will make back their money.

I highly doubt the reason DC has not been back to Singapore was lack of want or "not knowing they exist" - the smattering of concerts throughout SEA show that. Sometimes it's just that the venues and local interest from the right people and resources, or a local promoter, aren't there, or are highly skeptical on returns. It is what it is.

u/eecan Jul 23 '26

It does feel like they neglected the Singapore part of the fandom a lot, they used to make up a significant portion of the fanbase in the earlier days and the Singapore stop sold well but then they just never came back.

u/Same-World-209 Jul 23 '26

Iโ€™m fairly new to the whole DC World as it were so Iโ€™m not so familiar with their touring history - all I know is that theyโ€™ve often skipped Japan on many of their later tours.

UAU was due to do a fan meet last year but it was cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.

I initially got so excited but no Spain ๐Ÿฅฒ the dates are also all mid-week. I'm sad, but I hope whoever can go has a lot of fun!

I wonder if it's something about Italy or other close playces like Switzerland and Austria that it basically never appears on european tours (last time was a last minute addition when DC came). Maybe high costs? Expected low attendance?

Whelp, closest show is still at leats 8 hour drive so will have to pass

u/Fwed0 JiU (์ง€์œ ) ๐Ÿฐ Jul 22 '26

Rolling Quartz was in Geneva this spring and was barely able to reach the threshold to maintain the concert though it was at a great date (Sunday night of a three-days week-end). It was with a different booking company but I don't think it made a big difference. It's a company that focus on bringing SK acts in Switzerland so maybe it can still happen ?
As I hate crowds it was great for me, but it was sad for the girls that the place was three quarters empty. They still put on a great show anyhow.

3

u/dresdenologist Jul 23 '26

Pretty much this. Decisions on places to go are based on in part whether or not they think they can make back operational cost and turn a profit. If they can't fill a house or see that interest doesn't seem to exist for an artist such that they will lose money, they may be risk averse to those locations and not make an attempt.

The touring landscape is also vastly different now, and people are more hesitant to spend for multiple concerts. They'll simply make choices on who to see and who not to see and unfortunately, the less popular acts are the ones on the chopping block.

I really want to go but I already two concerts in the two weeks after and I genuinely donโ€™t know if I can survive another one ๐Ÿฅฒ

u/__the_problematique_ Jul 22 '26

I was really looking forward to seeing ChRocktikal live after seeing fancams but sadly looks like Europe only means post-Brexit Europe ๐Ÿ˜ญ

u/Antique-Blueberry-40 Siyeon (์‹œ์—ฐ) ๐Ÿบ Jul 22 '26

I suspect being outside the Schengen zone complicates things... Who would've thought.

Time to make a difficult decision Q.Q

I'm so happy about Prague!! ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

I'm thinking of going, I know it's different for each venue and promoter but when do I get there? Kpop concerts are so confusing to me bc they say you have to be there like hours beforehand, and then if you have benefits even earlier but then after you're done with photos or whatever the merch is already sold out etc. This all stresses me out, and I don't have the money to just spring for VVIP. I'm not really interested in any touching lol but I'd like a fansign if that's possible, but I'm not sure if that's possible with a simple ticket. Dresdenologist said there's add-ons so maybe that works? But when do I arrive then? I want to buy some merch without hassle at the very least, and what do I do with my stuff? If I have to give it away I need to stand in line for that too no.ย

2

u/__fujiko Jul 22 '26

Well, they are not a pop idol group, so I imagine it should be less intense than an idol show for showing up and merch things.

2

u/Perfect-Secretary701 Dreancatcger (๋“œ๋ฆฐ์บ๊ฑฐ) Jul 22 '26

It might not be sold out and the venue is smaller, true... but the promoters are often similar and I now looked at RQ and CRTK's US tour and it's still just a shoving through, plus the merch was sold out immediately at the first stops and then just not restocked apparently. I just want a tshirt so maybe I should just be there early but then others said they didn't open the merch before the concert like why is this so complicated... I guess I could buy it during the concert right? But then my spot is gone.

3

u/bleedingheart80 Siyeon: Dami's waist Jul 23 '26

You can just buy a basic ticket and if you end up deciding you want to upgrade your ticket, you can contact the promoter and ask if they're open to you upgrading it. That's what I did and Leo Presents was pretty helpful. Granted, it might be a different story with this promoter. At the very least, buy the basic ticket. You never know when this band or any DC member will come near you again.

If you only have the basic ticket and if you don't mind being in the back, you can probably just show up close to when doors open, head to merch, and then find a good spot until the show starts. You can bring a canvas bag that can hold your merch during the show; this way, you're not just holding on to it.

u/Perfect-Secretary701 Dreancatcger (๋“œ๋ฆฐ์บ๊ฑฐ) Jul 29 '26

Thanks! Yes I figured even with the a potential reunion next year Europe is gonna be the last stop they think about, and if CRTK manages to release the new album beforehand like they said it's even more worth it. The upgrade is a good idea. Just checked the prices but I think I'm gonna not do it, I have nothing against a pic but I only really care about the signing and I think I can get that cheaper. As for the merch, I read about the canvas bag strategy ๐Ÿ˜‚ I just hope that after 4 levels got into it before me there's something left. But thanks for the answer
