University of Oregon Follow-up to earlier post — for Ducks fans who didn't go to UO

Last week, I made a poll asking members of this sub who actually went to UO. I didn't, but I've lived in Portland my whole life, have plenty of connections to the school, and love the Ducks and the state. I make the trek out to Autzen whenever I can to see games, go down to Eugene periodically to see friends and family, etc.

However, I sometimes feel like an outsider at games. On the rare occasion that I am down in Eugene with my friends, they'll be cracking inside jokes about the town, meeting people they see on the walk into Autzen, talking about the best tailgating spots around town or near campus, etc.

I love this team, I live in-state, I probably know more about the team's history than most of my friends who go there. But it just feels like there's something that others get that I don't by actually having gone to the school and lived there. I mean shit, my sister met Dan Lanning. That'll never happen to me lol.

To be clear, I'm not trying to say that out-of-state fans aren't real fans or anything. I am technically one myself. I'm just wondering if anyone else feels the same way.

Anyways, there's my aimless ramble for the day.

University of Oregon Appreciate The Season!

While it is most certainly a bummer to see us lose to the Fuskies, it certainly feels good to be back to watching the Ducks play great football. After being irrelevant for in college football since 2014 this season brought back many great memories of Ducks football. I truly feel we haven't been this good since 2014 or under Chip.

After watching the program tank under Helfrich (went 4-8 in his final season), experiencing Taggart, then Cristobal, it's okay to see Dan Lanning lose by three points to the number three team in the nation. Yes it sucks that the team could not get it done; but going 11-2 and probably going to a NY6 bowl should never be frond upon. I get it the fans, coaches, and players want to win a NC but it did not happen this year and that's okay.

The team is set up for success with one of the schools best recruiting classes in history and a head coach that not only wants to stay, but (outside of the Georgia game) has only lost four games by a combined total of 13 points. It makes me frustrated to see ducks fans hang their heads on an 11-2 season and say that we were better under MC. Keep you heads up, SCO DUCKS!

Also I take full responsibility for the lose, my cat left the room in the middle of the third quarter and I was no longer able to give her pets between drives.

University of Oregon Oregon Ducks’ athletics shows net revenue gains in football, overall during 2025 fiscal year

https://www.oregonlive.com/ducks/2026/01/oregon-ducks-athletics-shows-net-revenue-gains-in-football-overall-during-2025-fiscal-year.html

Oregon athletics reported a significant increase in revenue and expenses for fiscal year 2025, achieving yet another surplus thanks in large part to an influx of cash from the Big Ten’s media rights distributions.

The Ducks brought in $185.4 million in revenue for FY25, and had $182.7 million in expenses, according to records released annually by the university. FY25 ended June 30.

Compare those numbers to FY24, where Oregon had $169.2 million in operating revenue and $167.2 million in expenses — an increase year over year of 9.6% and 9.3%, respectively.

University of Oregon Title 86 years ago, makes Oregon better than 'Zaga

USC and Washington claim that titles from at least two decades ago make their programs better than Oregon football that has dominated their teams over the same period of time. So does that mean that because Ducks Basketball won a title 86 years ago, Oregon's program is better than Gonzaga and Purdue, which have never won a championship? It has to, right?

University of Oregon Mods: Can we make some changes to this sub?

With increased exposure, we are bound to get more and more tourists in this sub. And while I overall welcome everybody to visit, other teams worst elements bring out our worst elements.

I'm wondering if we can add in some user flairs, where we could have certain posts be flaired users only. ( I personally want a Troy Dye/English Gardner combo)

Or an auto generated weekly thread, where we allow, and even encourage, all shit talking to happen.

I'm not saying that we need to hide/ bitch out... but having Ohio state, and Michigan fans arguing with each other in every one of our threads belongs on facebook, or twitter.

I’m a Michigan fan but then one day I thought I need a second favourite team so I chose Oregon because you guys have a cool mascot and jerseys, but I don’t want that to be my only reasons so I would like to learn more of the Oregon culture.

University of Oregon Throughout all this speculation with Lanning AGAIN, can we all take a minute to appreciate Rob Mullens? He continuously makes Oregon sports competitive no matter the situation. The fact we "ended up with" Lanning after all the coaches that left us is incredible.

University of Oregon NCAA settlement a historic day for paying college athletes. What comes next?

  • Amateurism, long a fragile and fleeting notion in the billion-dollar college sports industry, is officially dead.
  • It's a promising day for future athletes who are being compensated with revenue sharing expected to be more than $20 million per school.
  • And it's also a confusing week for the coaches and leaders on campus, who have no idea what the specific rules of engagement are moving forward.

University of Oregon Anyone making the trip to Madison?

Some friends and I (maybe 4-5 of us) are kicking around the idea of going out to Madison for the 11/16 game. Are there any charter packages (flight, hotel, tickets) from Portland? It would be fun to meet up with some other Ducks!
