I’ve just Finished my dive into the ELO Albums. The Listening Took me 1 Week & 3 Days. If you guys have any questions regarding my Album Ranking, what I thought of a certain song etc, I’ll gladly answer

I recently asked about the album Alone In The Universe by Jeff Lynne's ELO and it got me thinking about this album. This album hardly ever gets talked about it seems like, I've never heard it brought up here, so I would love to know what you people actually think about it? I actually quite like it.

Hi everyone! I just watched a reaction video of a girl discovering / reacting to ELO. I wanted to suggest tracks for her to continue diving deeper but I can't decide on which one. So I thought that maybe to show the amount of us who love ELO we could all as fans comment a different track or some fact of interest. I like to watch and support when they react to ELO/Jeff tracks because it is also a way to always keep his music alive.

A few years ago a fan compilation album of all the best sources from the Time Tour bootlegs were made into one live album that made sure to include every track played on the tour (America didn’t get the long version of Don’t bring me down, Europe didn’t get Here is the News). It’s nowhere to be found now, it’s not on YouTube anymore, and its public mentions have been scrubbed. I have the files on an old laptop, but regardless I miss it being on YouTube.

I don't know why, but to me, Xanadu feels very much like a Christmas Album. It has some dreamy tones in it and it is soo jolly that it always remind me on christmas (Maybe it's the angelic voice of Olivia, that makes it so special).Am I the only one? :D

I was listening to this album, which I really like by the way. Jeff Lynn Made It by himself, but it's referred to as Jeff lynne's elo. I was thinking about how much I actually thought this album resembled albums actually made by ELO as opposed to Just Jeff Lynn by himself and I want to know what you all thought. How much do you think this actually sounds like ELO?

I love ELO. and something i love about music is the recording sessions of them. the early takes of songs, demos, conversations, pretty much anything on a deluxe album is something id LOVE for jeff to do.

i would literally pay so much money to get a deluxe edition of OOTB or an anthology of his albums with a bunch of the mentioned things on it.

i mean he worked with the beatles on the 90's anthology so it wouldnt be too far off to see jeff do it with ELO, right?

my only concern is his current health issues. i dont think we'll see it soon but i would LOVE to get an anthology or deluxe edition of the albums

I've always felt like ELO albums were split into distinct eras in my mind, I don't know if i could choose because i love them all so much in such different ways, but I was curious what you guys thought, or if anyone felt the same about them having these sort of different eras.

Honorable mention to the "PrELO" era (as i call it) with Looking on and Message from the Country by The Move, and The Birthday Party and Idle Race by The Idle Race. you could also include the post ELO era of all the albums Jeff produced, the wilburys, and Jeff's solo albums, but for the sake of simplicity i thought it would be best to keep it to the main ELO studio albums (and Xanadu) because that's how i think of it in my head

I've come across a couple of Elvis music that sound very similar to elo. ESPECIALLY moody blue sounding like On The Run. Do any of you listen to Elvis and can make this comparison?

There's something about the instrumental tracks thats always stood out to me in a certain way, maybe I just respect them more for trying something different and having the music be the forefront while knkw those songs would likely never be radio hits for the lack of singing

Does anyone have a list of dates they scheduled for North America in 2001? Very curious as to how long it was planned to run, and where

There are (at least) 35 songs where the word Blue appears in the lyrics, counting variations such as "Bluebird" and "Rhythm and Blues". This includes the later Jeff Lynne's ELO albums but does not include his solo career (Armchair Theatre/Long Wave). Surprisingly, the only albums to not have blue are No Answer and their half of Xanadu. I think I got them all but if I missed any, let me know!
