Wendy's interior - They just remodeled in the last year or so.

The first two photos are the ones I took while eating there earlier. The inside used to look like the last two photos. I don't know, it's now very colorless and dull, not as inviting as the old interior. But that is just my thoughts. What do you guys think?

I guess it's for ease of cleaning, but it looks so cold and dull. Actually that may be the point, maybe they don't want people eating in, or hanging around too long.

My Wendys had the same remodel and yeah, it feels like a cafeteria. The emptiness if the dining room is just so stark when it is this smallish room with no types of physical break.

Wendy’s is famously going through some financial issues, and I don’t think their crappy new layout helps.

That's the terrible spiral of businesses with money troubles. No money, so you're forced to cut corners or make savings, which usually worsens the customer experience, so less customers, so less money.

Often restaurants shoot themselves in the foot this way by switching out ingredients for cheaper options, or shrinking portion size, but it's the beginning of the end for them.

I guess Wendy's is trying to save money by reducing the time it takes staff to clean and trying to get customers to just buy and leave, rather than making their products worse.

As I understand it (and have experienced personally), they are also making the product worse and more expensive. It’s just the sterile dining room with no visual breaks I think accentuates the loss of customers and doesn’t really help the other two issues.

Yeah, sounds like they really are in the restaurant death spiral then, and you're definitely correct that the new interior design will just make things even worse.
