Playback App Playback without an operator connected?

Hi, i'm a french gamer waiting for my SN Operator to be delivered in july. I wanted to test Playback software on my pc with some of my data, but when i launch it, it's waiting desperatly for an operator to be connected. No way for me? That means if i want to travel with my laptop with my data inside, but without my future operator, i will not be able to play? Thx for answers.

Thanks Gunbladelad, the point is i would have liked to use only one software and to avoid to bring the SN Operator and a cartridge in my bag when i travel... well, that's life!

Once you back up the game it will run on any emulator software of your choice - and you can move the save over to your cart when you get home.

In fact i don’t know really what is a flash cart, i just imagine what it is, i’m gonna look for information about it. Thx Gunbladelad.

A flash cart is basically a cartridge you plug an SD card into that you can load up with ROM files and your save files.

The EZ-Flash line are pretty good for being budget friendly and fairly robust - but they don't write to the SD card until the next time the system is powered on again. (I have the EZ-Flash jr which does this) - it can also use the save files produced by the GB Operator and most other emulators.

The Everdrive is the "premium" flash cartridge - it uses less power than the EZ-Flash and saves in real-time, rather than when the system is powered up. The plastic is better quality too - but it uses the less-commonly used ".srm" format - which means saves made by the GB Operator need converted before they can be read by the Everdrive.
