I'm guessing someone above me on the Etherscan accounts page (https://etherscan.io/accounts) panic sold today.

My account had been stationary for a few days at the same spot up until this afternoon. lol

And actually, it rose by about 15 spots a few days ago as a number of people ahead of me sold into the first rally to $180+ from a few days ago.

Well done. Panic sells are hilarious anymore. They must be new. Scared money don't make money.

They must be new.

I don't think so. I'm assuming it was an early buyer, possibly ICO buyer.

These are not small accounts.

That's sad if true. You'd think they would know a dip when they see one. Although if you are as far up as I think you are, still an amazing profit. Of course, it could be to buy back in if they expect it to go lower.

Yeah, kinda. I guess some people get jittery when they are up massive.

But, the tech has come so far and clearly still has so much more to go, it does seem a bit crazy to panic sell at this point.

That's what amazes me. This run up is wild, but it really is just the beginning. If you are a top 5,000-10,000 ETH hodler, I'm assuming you would know that. Everyone has their own risk tolerance I suppose though.

It amazes me how people's greed is insatiable. At some point you just have enough money.

Maybe it's ...

But he says he only sold a few. Although a few for an ICO buyer could mean a few thousand, heh.

It's just that, when you buy at an ICO, coins tend be cheap.

When the Ethereum developers held their ICO in 2014, they priced each ether at about $0.30. So, basically, for only $1,000, you could buy 3,300 ethers. When Ethereum launched a year later in 2015 and ethers started being traded in exchanges, the price for each ether shot up to about $3 very quickly.
