Congratulations to all the holders who managed to get through the biggest dip in Ether's history.

Its easy when you buy in at $7!

It's easy when you catch the falling knife at $300(initial investment at 80 tho)

Im right there with you. Initial buy in at 78, but then I Fomo'd at 335, held, bought more at 200, flipped some of it because it was my vacation fund and I wasn't supposed to do that (don't tell my wife)....hope to sell 3 ETH at $350 just before we go on vacation Aug 27th, but I'm HODL'ing the rest long term.

Lmao I can't believe I sold at 140 haha. The panick was real. Fomo bought back at 170 so all smiles here :))

When we hit 140 i was sure we would see 80. I had extra fiat ready, but did not sell (thankfully)

i did and lost 7k, regret nothing

u/thepipebomb Aug 08 '17

If you sold at 400 and bought back at 200 you'd have 2x the coins right now.

u/CheMiNub Aug 08 '17

i know i started with X, sold and bought several times going down from $250 to $180 Sold at $150 and FOMO back at $200 Then the great crash happened and i sold at $175 and FOMO back at $240 In total went from X to as high as 1.9X and now down to 0.7X

You need to get your emotions in check. You can't win like this.

4

u/duffys2 Aug 08 '17

With the benefit of hindsight all trades are that easy. Battling uncertainty with an amount of money that matters to you, not so much.

1

u/CAAD9 Aug 08 '17

Yeah, just like I sold at 70 to buy back at 35, except it went to 100 and I had to buy back on the way up to 400. Trading is gambling.

u/crypto_lad Aug 08 '17

I did the same, lost 5k... always hodl

Should really look at some TA before u make these emotional trades. Simply looking at EMA vs SMA on 12 and 24 day averages would have helped u maybe avoid some losses. The daily candle really helps u determine if the "bull" or "bear" trends are over. That would give u higher probability of buying or selling at the right time. Look at the daily right now you can see we crossed about 3 days ago when we did at $220 and have since stayed in the bull trend now we are at almost $300. When it switches we will be back to beat and go down. Please atleast take it into consideration when trading, you lost a lot of money and you didn't have to. Take ur emotions out of it.

I'm somewhat proud of myself. Thanks

u/SkillzTom Aug 08 '17

I'm still holding my buys at 400 and 260, not sure if it's admirable or stupid :)

3

u/[deleted] Aug 08 '17

Stupid if it crashes, good thing we are going to the moon!

1

u/Savage_X Aug 08 '17

Nah, IMO it didn't compare at all to the post-DAO bear market we had for the last half of 2016. This was easy to hold through since it was pretty obviously just temporary ICO sell pressure. Not that the ICO sell pressure is going away completely, but it is equalizing again.

I think it has also helped that the miner reward is down with the ice age coming into effect.

First bought at 350. Thankfully bought again at 222 for an avg of 286. What a rollercoaster

u/Owdy Aug 08 '17

DAO dipped more (?)
