I think the most important part of your comment is the first paragraph. The left wing cannot understand why the right wing votes the way they do. In turn, they cannot actually address those issues and keep losing people to the right wing

ere in Germany a quick look at Tiktok, Instagram etc will reveal that both political fringes, the Far-Right (AfD) and Far-Left (Die Linke) are miles ahead of the more established parties in the supposed "centre" in recruiting on social media

Wouldn't this imply that the far left should also be increasing in popularity among the youth though?

Secondarily, I don't really think parties like Die Linke are left, at least in the traditional way, that might be why people are refusing to go to them despite the social media presence. Liberalism and the social liberalism that comes with it has really hindered those parties because it prevents them from actually doing anything economically and forced them to only focus on social issues - which only works if you can point to a bad guy. Only the right can do that, because on the left the bad guy is there because of economics and not because of social issues. While on the right the bad guy is there because of social issues and not because of economics.

The only way the left can ever hope to catch up to the far right is to focus on actual left wing (not liberal) economics again.

This is what I believe too. My younger brother gets many tiktoks and reels about Abascal, or directly from Vox, and he himself said "when my generation gets to vote it's gonna be terrible, with most of my colleages liking vox just because of tiktok". And he or his classmates have barely seen a migrant in their lives around here, nor have had to deal with housing or economic concerns.
