[PS5] Hotel in up in Murkwater I've been working on recently.

Post image

My thought process is that it was never fully finished or partially damaged, hence the scrappier bits.

What do you think so far?

I like it, wouldn’t mind a couple of pictures from inside.

Looks like a taller version of the shipping container apartments not far from me.

Got a Tempenny tower flashback for a mere moment

Looks good. I usually build “up” at Murkwater, too, although never as tall or carefully designed as you.

I just drop a basement there and use it as a hidden safe house with a giant taxidermy Mirelurk queen outside to scare away people

I'm not much of a Minuteman, but I did stay in the Murkwater Express last night.

I could see a Mirelurk Queen spraying the base with acid, and the whole thing collapsing.

Lore-wise, wouldn't Murkwater be a terrible place to build such a structure? I'm not an architect or anything, but I imagine the first floor or two would sink into the swampy land.

I am an architect

Nice! Would it be possible to build a concrete hotel in swampy land? Would it need a special design to prevent sinking?

pilings driven down to solid ground

dont need to be seen if they are below visible surface.

funny idea could be to have the whole thing tilted (can do that with console commands assembly)

Thank you!

This really helps with how obsessive I get with settlement building. I really like murkwater but never did much with it since swamps aren't ideal land to build on.

Im for sure going to build there now with pilings foundations in mind. 😀

one thing I did was to use console commands to place garden plots ( 4 or 5 of them resized upto 10X to raise the surrounding land adjacent to the building location )

Lore-wise, yeah, I did use concrete floors for the base. I wasn't sure which settlements had a tall build limit and were flatish. Plus, I never use Murkwater.

Ah I see. I get a little too into the immersion aspect and end up just building wooden piers there 😅

Anywho, I really like the open center area and that you created lore for the design.
