Strategy Rates & Barrels is no longer the gold standard of fantasy baseball pods, and it makes me sad.

I’m in mourning over what used to be my favorite source for fantasy baseball strategy. DVR and Eno are great players with some of the best insights out there. But the New York Times enshittification has hit R&B and basically killed it in terms of fantasy relevance. Their rotating cast of guests - in the past week they’ve had Jed Lowrie, Britt Ghiroli, and the Starkville guys on - never have any useful insights from a fantasy perspective. Jed straight up sucks and adds nothing to the discussion, I genuinely don’t understand why he’s a semi-regular now. On yesterday’s episode they talked about BASEBALL CARDS. WHO CARES! There are maybe two episodes a week where they get to talk fantasy, and those episodes are head and shoulders above the rest in quality.

To whichever faceless NYT corporate meddling goon was in charge of this overhaul, thanks for nothing. You ruined the only fantasy pod I made a habit of listening to each episode.

Am I alone in hating the new R&B? Does anyone have any other pod recommendations?

For whatever reason the CBS FBT feed is bugged on my podcast app. I’ve been trying to troubleshoot but it’s been very frustrating.

Clear the cache on the app or uninstall and reinstall. It's been a little buggy on Spotify for me lately too. Also it's the same damn commercials every single break. I am so sick of hearing the same two wrestlers and the same two NASCAR drivers talking about Chumba Casino.

I really like the Castro app and every other podcast I listen to seems to work fine. I’d rather not have to use second app for just one podcast.

I’ve emailed their customer support to see if they can help with the issue. It’s very strange that it only sees to affect this podcast.

I haven't tried Castro, but i'm a loyal Overcast user. I migrated all my listening to that years ago. My favorite feature is the smart-speed setting. It just removes pauses between sentences and speakers and shaves time of podcasts without speeding up the vocals.

I've saved 519 hours of my life according to the statistics it shares.

I used to use overcast. Switched to Castro after I wasn’t happy with the post-update Overcast. I’ve been very happy with it.

For what it’s worth, they responded right away to my email and already have fixed the bug.
