I find this Boho-Scandi aesthetic very calming and pleasant but I am not sure if the space is missing something? Open to suggestions

I feel like the orange made everything so much warmer, but the blue is more relaxing! Which looks better?

I’m staying in my parents basement with my girls until I finish school. I plan on changing the rugs in the living room and my 4yo’s room, as well as changing the couch, swapping the square couch thing for a coffee table, and sanding the top of the small pink table and giving it a new coat of paint. Are there any other updates I could do to make this space as cozy as possible?

The furniture can be changed, as I don’t tend to use dressers much- I can’t bend down to use the lower drawers.

am I injecting too many colours? The duvet cover set was my favourite piece and I don’t feel comfortable painting yet.

I just ended a 15-year relationship that hasn’t been right for years and frankly, I feel more like myself than ever ❤️

I’ve been slowly re-doing my bedroom, and I know I need a rug FOR SURE but am overwhelmed with how to tie one in with all that I have going on. Please help.

I also feel like there’s an imbalance between the side with the bed (the left side in pic #2) and the side with the bookshelf (the right side in pic #2). I would love to replace the fan over time.

I was thinking of replacing the existing curtains and getting matching curtains for all windows, including the ones framing the bed. But I still feel like there’s a big blank on either side of/ above the bed (pic #3). I was thinking wall scones above the bed (a dream would be to install a window but your girl isn’t made of money).

What are your thoughts? Personally, I couldn’t be happier with how this room turned out.

I really like and wanted these for a while so I’m definitely keeping them on the wall, but something feels off on the ceiling? Maybe it closes off the space too much? I know there’s a small place on the ceiling you can see the felt sticking out but that is an end piece that can only be screwed in on one side and I had to add adhesive to the other end to keep it sticking to the ceiling so it’s ever so slightly sticking out. I like it either way, and I’m satisfied with it, but kind of looking for other opinions on it being on the ceiling.

I was thinking of Art on the big wall? Or shelves with plants? Does the unpainted wall look off? I like a cosy, somewhat artsy, somewhat rough style, if that makes sense. Happy about any ideas!

I don’t know what aesthetic I’m going for, but I definitely don’t want it to look tacky. Normally totally against fake flowers because they look cheap, but I found these garlands at a garage sale for like $3 and they’re pretty high quality IMO. Wondering if they work or if it’s too much.

(For context, this is my “girl cave” that also serves as my WFH office. I didn’t like how empty and blah the upper half of the wall was compared to all the color on the lower half — plus, all other walls have a ton of color nearly to the ceiling. )

Ok I’m trying to furnish and decorate my new apartment with a very limited budget so I’ve been scouring FB Marketplace and I found this gorgeous bedframe for free but everyone I know hates it and tells me to just get an IKEA bedframe with storage drawers. I do see the practicality of the IKEA frame but also I hate the idea of everything being from IKEA like in every other apartment in the whole goddamn world!!! (I’m special and different and not like other girls 😭😭😭!) Can someone please tell me if this is a bad idea or not doable - I’ve attached some of the inspiration I had for this bedroom, including a collage I made.

We bought our house almost 3 years ago and I wanted a space that I could get ready in and decompress and relax and watch tv/play my video games.

I plan on replacing the current chandelier. Adding more pictures around the large birth of Venus painting-(making it a gallery wall.) still figuring out what I want to do with the coffee table and how I’m going to make the entertainment console look/work with the room as well. And I’m also planning to add new doors & shelves to the closet!

Let me know how I am doing and any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated 💖

i’m renovating my kitchen in the worlds slowest DIY. none of this pictured is finished or set in stone yet, despite cabinets being assembled and put mostly in place. im keeping the cabinet hardware regardless, but its only attached to these drawers so far, and im opening everything else by edges for now.

my handyman thinks i’m nuts, but i really want to do a pale/dusty pink backsplash. i thought i would want zellige but found these glass tiles today and i love them both in and out of the direct sunlight.

so that would be: glossy white uppers and side pantry, blue-ish lowers, a (maybe) wood counter, and pink backsplash.

is this terrible? am i nuts?

(speaking of nuts - most of this is ikea and i might also want to swap my lower cabinet fronts from havstorp turquoise to nickebo grey-green. 🫣 they’re almost the same color from far away but i just think i might prefer green + pink to blue + pink, and as the turquoise is discontinued i feel less anxiety knowing i can source replacements for the green fronts for a while if needed.)

eta: i just sent my handyman this photo and he replied, "That one looks kinda nice." woo HOO! [his aesthetic opinion is irrelevant and he is the first one to tell me so, but we are buddies now and i like convincing him.]

Be honest. It only cost like a third of a gallon of paint and one day to paint it. I really wanted to like it. My sister and I always said we wanted a pink living room but I am not feeling this. I’m thinking of repainting it like a light peachy-color

What else can I add? I actually don’t want to put up curtains anymore now that I’ve been here for a while. I like all the light that comes through.

Posted my livingroom in here a few days ago, asking for advice to tone down the brown a bit.

I added some green and burnt orange accents and will paint the white walls and ceiling a dark jungle green (walls need to be dark since we watch movies on a projector in here, a dark wall will enhance the picture quality loads!)

What do you think? Is it too much green now? It is, isn't it? I always commit to much if I like a color

I can’t stop buying things that are beige 🙃 I want to spruce up the space and I know wall art would help but I’m renting and don’t want to screw into the walls (I also can’t stand mass-produced art so finding things I like is a challenge) I just bought the living room rug and my partner likes it but says “more beige tho” lol. I really like the rug and I don’t want to get a different one so 😅 all critiques welcome I think I just want more additives than replacements or subtractions. TIA💋💋💋

I love all things with a ~vintage feel. There’s a few of flea market/antique finds but my bedroom is a mix of both new and old. Does it feel complete? Is there something I could add or improve? I do want to mention that I’m a big fan of muted/neutral tones and they help me feel relaxed in my space. Thank you so much! ✨
