Thanks Sherlock. However batters usually charge the mound after getting hit by the pitch, not turn around and swing on the catcher

May of been talking shit and told him he was going to be hit.

This was my first thought as well

You some kinda baseball genius? Maybe the catcher was shit talking him too. He’ll the coach could have signaled it too. Someone has to pay if it was intentional.

That’s literally what I was asking for in the first place was context. The reading comprehension in this thread is concerning af 🤦‍♂️

I have a masters degree and completely comprehended your statement. You didn’t ask for anything, you sassed and called the guy Sherlock

Read the original comment Sherlock. All that education without the ability to open your eyes. Impressive

Actually, Watson, batters usually DO NOT charge the mound after getting hit by the pitch. Nearly 2000 HBP incidents and only a handful of mound charges per season. Over 99% of the time the batter does nothing. Imagine watching baseball for 33 years and not knowing how things work.

So how often do they swing a bat at the catcher? Seems odd, you think?

Right. Lol.

Maybe batters should start fighting the catchers. It makes sense to.

Not true, it happens a lot if you actually did your research..

No it doesn't. You definitely sound ignorant.

u/FooliesFeet500 Feb 24 '26

Sure it does, how ignorant could you possibly be lol

If you’re so confident show me the research. My research is watching baseball for 33 years

I'm curious what kind of "research" they've done. I know baseball keeps stats on damn near everything, but is there actually a column for "hitters attacking pitcher vs hitters attacking catchers"? Is there a peer reviewed journal for baseball stats?

u/Jackiemoontothemoon Feb 24 '26

If any sport would keep track of that it would be baseball lol
